Chapter Eleven

"I'll pick you up in thirty minutes okay?" Billy said over the phone.

"Okay." Lila smiled twirling her hair in her fingers. "See you soon."

She hung up the phone before squealing. She pulled on some jeans and a random shirt before letting her blonde hair down. She ran her fingers through her loose curls and retreated to the living room.

Hopper sat on the couch, flipping between the television channels.

"Hop?" Lila spoke. "Can Billy come get me?"

"Sure, kiddo." He replied. "Where are you going?"

"To Billy's." Lila answered.

"What are you going to be doing at Billy's house?" Hopper questioned.

"Billy didn't say." Lila shrugged.

"No drugs, no alcohol." Hopper said sternly. "And no messing around."

"Never!" Lila exclaimed as she tried to hold back laughter. . After months, Nancy had finally explained to her what that meant. It made her giggle. It had to be the strangest thing she'd learned since escaping.

Billy's camaro roared down the driveway. Lila grinned before slipping on her converse.

Hopper sighed at the noise. "Be safe, kid."

"Always!" Lila called out as she ran out the front door. She climbed into Billy's car, greeting him with a kiss.

"Baby!" She grinned as she pulled away.

"Hello to you too, sweetheart." He laughed.

Lila held onto Billy's hand as they drove down the road. Billy's rock music played softly in the background. Lila wasn't the biggest fan of his music, but she didn't complain.

"Never been this way." Lila said as she glanced out of the window.

"It's a shortcut." Billy replied.

As she looked around, chill bumps arose on her arms. She felt uneasy, her breath hitched in her throat.

"Something bad." Lila whispered, squeezing Billy's hand.

"Relax, babe. Everything is fi-Shit!" Billy shouted as he grabbed his steering wheel with both hands. The car spun around and into a lightpole.

The pair groaned out in pain, holding their heads.

"What the fuck was that?" Billy mumbled opening his door.

"No!" Lila shouted as he stepped out.

"Dammit!" Billy called out as he examined his car. "Jesus fucking christ."

Lila stepped out before standing beside him. The front bummer was damaged, along with a crack windshield.

"I'm fucked." He mumbled rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't suppose you can heal cars?"

Lila shook her head, frowning.

"Dammit!" He shouted once more, kicking the tire. "Piece of sh-"

He couldn't get the rest of his words out before he was yanked to the ground and being drug towards the building that they'd crashed near.

"Billy!" Lila screamed in terror. A vine like thing was wrapped around his ankle, pulling him towards the opening.

Lila held her hand out before letting out an ear piercing scream. The vine, tentacle, whatever it was burst into pieces. Billy scrambled to his feet, sprinting towards Lila.

"Come on!" He shouted grabbing her arm and pulling her behind him.

She glanced behind, stomach turning.

Something bad was happening.

After a very silent car ride, they finally made it to Billy's empty house. Billy cut his car off before looking over at Lila.

"What was that?"

"S-something bad." Lila stammered. "Are you hurt?"

"My legs, I think. But I'm okay." Billy sighed before opening his door. "Let's go inside, yeah?"

Lila nodded and followed him up the steps. The pair made their way to his room. Billy turned on the radio, leaving it at a quiet volume before sitting on the bed.

He lifted up his pant leg, revealing a gash. Lila kneeled down beside him before placing her hand over the gash.

"You're amazing." Billy sighed falling onto the mattress.

"Thanks." Lila smiled as she climbed into his bed.

Billy shifted so that his whole body was now on the bed. He pulled Lila in close to him, kissing her head. Lila exhaled before wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Never go away." Lila mumbled into his chest.

"I don't plan on it, sweetheart." Billy smiled before pressing his lips to hers.

Lila smiled into the kiss before running her fingers through his blond curls. Billy bit Lila's bottom lip, catching her by surprise.

She pulled away quickly, furrowing her eyebrows. "Don't like."

"Alright, alright." Billy laughed. "I won't do it again."

Lila nodded before pulling him back into her lips. As the kiss deepened, Billy shifted so that he was now hovering over Lila. His lips trailed down her neck, nipping against the skin. She giggled, wrapping her legs around his waist.

Billy pulled away, raising his eyebrows. "No more?"

"Keep going." Lila giggled once more.

Pretty soon, with her consent, Billy was pulling Lila's shirt over her head.

"You are so beautiful." He mumbled into her neck as he kissed down her chest.

"Mhm." Lila mumbled, leaning her head into the pillow.

"Just go."
