The battle.

The next day

The first step that I took was asking about what weapons they had. Theor showed me the swords and shields that they had.

--This is it! I said to Theor.

--Yes that's all we have, do you know of any other weapons that we can use? Theor asked.

I said yes we can use javelins and spears. I proceeded to explain how both of them were made and how we could use them. No time was waisted and in a couple of hours they had two javelins for every soldier available.

--Nice work! I said we only need to show the soldiers how to use them.

Theor looked happy and pleased that progress was being made. After a few more hours the soldiers were throwing javelins as if it was natural to them.

The next day we deciding to use the javelins on a group of Barbarians coming through the forest to raid the village. It was a group of a hundred men. All of them were using only swords and some of them had shields. We had to our disposal five-hundred men each one of them having one sword and two javelins to throw. I had them formed in squares of one hundred each. I was behind in a horse with Theor, the men looked scared they had never done this before, the people of the village were used to not fight and just give up what they had, that's why they were being raided so often, but this was going to change.

When the group of Barbarians were close by I raised my fist up to the air and let it down, signaling that the soldier should throw their javelins. With a swift motion all of the men through their javelins to the air. I could see how the Barbarians were confused and didn't knew what to do. When the javelins fell down I could see most of the barbarians just laying on the ground impelled by the javelins, the ones that didn't got hit or were using shields to block them were stunted and looking to all sides. Now my men started to scream they had a rush of adrenaline seen how most of the barbarians were dead, they didn't knew how it felt to take one up on the enemy.

--Yes, we got them Sir! Theor said to me.

He put a hand on my shoulder, and I said, the fight is not over.

To me it was as if it was a video game I didn't feel remorse for getting those people killed, I didn't feel anything out of it. To me it was an accomplishment, seeing those people happy that they wouldn't get robbed this time.

Now I raise my fists again to the air and let it down again, another volley of javelins flew by, killing more of the barbarians.

Yes!!!! another scream came from my soldiers. All of them cheering and screaming out of adrenaline or joy, I don't know. Their gave the order for the men to go and plunder whatever they could from the Barbarians, we got some swords some broken Shields and retrieved the javelin that we threw some of the javelin were broken but we could use them again, it was a victory for us a good victory at that.
