"W-What rank did you say your technique was at?" Mo Xiao said in a trembling voice, and the others were also in a similar state of shock.

"Chaos Rank," Bai Chenyu replied, and their jaws almost hit the ground when they heard Bai Chenyu's confirmation.

'Heavens, Chaos Rank Technique! No wonder reaching the last stair is so challenging. Even the founder had a profound rank technique and built the sect relying on it. Now, Chenyu possesses an even higher-ranked technique. I doubt anyone, except the royal family, may have such a powerful technique,' Mo Xiao thought to himself upon hearing Bai Chenyu's words. He had only read about such techniques in books and heard rumors.

There are approximately four ranks before the Chaos Rank Technique: Mortal, Earth, Sky, and Profound, the last of which the founder had achieved. It's no wonder people were shocked when Bai Chenyu obtained a higher-ranked technique than the founder.

"Disciple Chenyu, what's the name of the technique?" Elder Zhu asked, his voice filled with both nervousness and excitement.

"It's called Death Draw," Bai Chenyu replied, recalling the name of the technique he had just acquired. Honestly, Bai Chenyu was a bit shocked himself to have gained such a formidable technique. He remembered even the protagonist, Su Chen, not possessing such a powerful technique.

"The name sure sounds formidable," Elder Huang remarked after hearing the bold name of the technique.

"Disciple Bai Chenyu, can you demonstrate your technique? Maybe this Elder sister will reward you," Elder Lei said, anticipation evident in her voice. She had only seen such a technique once in her life and winked teasingly at Bai Chenyu, who decided to ignore it.

"Yes, Chenyu, even I am curious to see it," Mo Xiao said with a smile, rolling his eyes at Elder Lei.

"I can, Master, but I lack a sword to do it. And who or what should I demonstrate it on?" Bai Chenyu looked at Mo Xiao and inquired.

"Oh, here. You can take this sword for now. Later, I will take you to buy a sword, or you can take one from the treasury," Mo Xiao said, and with a flick of his hand, an ordinary-looking sword appeared. It seemed to be a Sky Rank, landing in Bai Chenyu's hands.

"Elder Zhu, bring out a training golem," Mo Xiao instructed, and Elder Zhu brought forth a humanoid-looking golem made of wood. It behaved just like a normal cultivator.

"Try it on this training golem. It mimics the actions of a normal cultivator," Mo Xiao directed, and Bai Chenyu nodded in agreement.

Bai Chenyu swiftly positioned the sword near his waist, mimicking the movement of a sword in a scabbard. Suddenly, a dark light emanated from the sword, capturing everyone's attention as they squinted at the black glow.

"Death Strike," Bai Chenyu uttered, pulling the sword out as if drawing it from a scabbard just a bit. A distinctive clicking sound echoed, and the dark light instantly disappeared. The Elders and Sect Master felt a shiver down their spines upon hearing the sound, their eyes turning to the wooden golem, now headless on the ground.

"This technique," Mo Xiao muttered in a serious tone, noting the lethality of Bai Chenyu's new skill. He was confident that as Bai Chenyu's cultivation increased, he could easily dispatch individuals of the same cultivation level, sparking a bit of excitement within him. The other elders shared similar thoughts, swallowing nervously as they regarded Bai Chenyu as if he were some kind of monster

"As expected of a Chaos Rank technique," Elder Huang sighed, expressing admiration without a hint of envy or greed. The others nodded in agreement.

"Haha, as expected of my disciple," Mo Xiao chuckled.

"Alright, Chenyu, go back to your mansion. It should be finished by now. Take some rest; I have something in store for you in a few days," Mo Xiao said with a smile. Bai Chenyu was slightly puzzled by his words but complied, returning to his room.

"Wait, don't use the normal route. You'll be swarmed by disciples," Mo Xiao reminded Chenyu of the commotion he caused while climbing the last stair of the spirit stairs.

"You're right, Master," Bai Chenyu smiling wryly, Mo Xiao took out a teleportation array, and Bai Chenyu returned to the Golden Peak.

"Sect Master, what do we do about the others who saw Disciple Bai Chenyu's actions?" Elder Zhu inquired seriously. He was concerned that someone might want to cut the grass before it grew, he was sure there were no spies but still, caution was always welcome

"Sigh, what can we do besides waiting for the heat to die down? Put some protective measures around his mansion. I'm sure no one has the guts to enter Golden Peak, but I'll lay out some arrays," Mo Xiao decided, sensing that this might not be the last time Bai Chenyu caused a commotion. The elders who saw his expression smiled wryly, understanding the challenge of managing exceptional disciples who stood out too much in the crowd. They were sure in the upcoming years he would continue to stun them with his talents

A few days later

The entire sect buzzed with excitement and amazement upon learning that the new disciple of the sect master had successfully conquered the spirit stairs by reaching the top. Now, everyone knew what Bai Chenyu looked like, thanks to someone using an artificial device to take a picture of him. The females were particularly enamored, swooning over how cute Bai Chenyu was and predicting that he would grow into an extremely handsome man. His popularity among the females soared, and even many male cultivators, though jealous, couldn't help but admire the fact that someone so young had achieved what the founder could not.

Currently, Bai Chenyu stands in front of his master inside his mansion.

"Eh, Master, why are you looking for me this early morning?" Bai Chenyu asked with curiosity.

"Heh, can't I just come for a casual visit? Anyway, I'm here to take you on a trip outside the sect, into the wilderness for some experience. You've never gone out before, right? So, it'll be a good experience for you," Mo Xiao informed.
