Enlightened one

As Ali listened to and understood the meaning behind Kiara's words, he finally understood how foolish he was.

He always thought highly of love, thinking that's what's most important in life. After all, who can blame him, when all he ever saw and heard in his life had always praised love as the ultimate power and goal. The quote that if you don't find love, your life isn't worth living, and it has no meaning, was simply his life's motto all this time.

And even after he got the system and learned everything, he held hopes on his heartfelt love and feelings he felt for Aarvi, yet now he realised that it doesn't matter.

Sometimes, love isn't the most important thing in life. That there's a whole lot more to live for and enjoy in this world.

'I really was a fool to waste it all for so many years.' He thought, as he started laughing like a madman who finally found his eureka moment.

Yet in between his laughs, system's sudden pings worked as a bucket of cold water that drowned all his excitement, and caused him to frown.

Reading all these notifications, Ali's mind froze for a second even though he had just gotten his 'enlightenment'.

'System explain yourself.' He said, confused over everything as his newly increased intelligence already helped him understand what it meant. But his brain refused to believe that theory.

How could he? His theory told him that all he ever felt was just due to fate's plans and control. That all his life, all his actions of affection were just him being pulled by the strings of fate like a puppet.

Was any of it real, was anything of Him ever real? If fate could control his emotions to that level then what about others, does no one has any control over any of their emotions or actions? Is free will just a joke?

So many questions running hyper speed in his mind as the ticks of clock echoed in sync with his slowed heartbeat. He needed an answer, but sadly there was none.

[ ... .. . ] system was silent, no more replies, no new notifications.

'Damn it.' Ali cursed as he remember, his system was sleeping and what was left in him was just something akin to an automatic programme which only had access to normal functions, while speaking only when some of his actions met pre-set requirements.

Watching as the man in front of him suddenly stopped smiling and became silent like a sad monk, Kiara wanted to ask something, when the lift suddenly started working and going down.

Kiara took a few moments to process that she wasn't wrong and lift really did start working. "Hey, the lift started moving again. We'll be out of here soon." She said, looking back at him, only to see him in anger this time.

Thinking she said something wrong or extra before, crossing her boundry, she wanted to apologize or ask what happened, when the doors behind her opened and she was pushed aside as a few guards entered the lift.

"Ali, are you okay?" Her boss, Natasha entered the lift and worriedly took the man's hand, helping him stand up. "You're bleeding, I'll take you to the hospital." She said, guiding him out as she placed his hand on her shoulder and started walking.

"What're you doing standing here, go get my car out." She said and Kiara watched as a guard, who was blocking her view rushed out and ran towards the entrance.

Following them out of the lift, Kiara watched as a lot of the employees were surrounding the lift and some man, dressed in black, were clearing the way for miss Natasha and the mysterious man.

'Ali_where have I heard this name?' She thought while wondering who this man was. Her naive mind didn't even realise that for the past one hour of their chatting she never even asked him for his name.

As the entourage of security staff and those black suit bodyguards left through the main gate, Kiara finally turned around, only to see all the employees on that floor were looking at her weirdly.

She felt nervous as she found herself being the center of attention like this, she just wanted to ignore their judging eyes and whispering chatters, and run out to go back to her desk at this moment now.

But how could it be possible. Her friend and partner for her the SA job, Sameera, came near her and grabbed her hand as she pulled him aside. "You_ were in the lift, right? With him? How long were you both stuck? Are you okay? Do you two know each other? Why was he bleeding though? Is he hurt? He didn't do anything to you, right? Or did he?"

One by one Sameera barraged her with so many questions non-stop, she didn't even know which one to answer first. She opened her mouth to say something, but by then a new question would come up and interrupt her.

"Do you have his number by the way?" Sameera asked, and was about to say something else, but Kiara covered her mouth, caduing her words to mumble over her palm. "Asting por a treind."

"Can you let me talk?" Kiara said, looking at her friend who finally stopped her mumble. "If you don't stop, how can I answer."

Sameera stuck her tongue out as if realizing her mistake, while Kiara just took her palm back and wiped it over Sam's shoulder. "Ewww" She said.

Ignoring her friends face and actions, Sameera slapped patted her shoulder and asked "Now tell me, do you know each other? Are you guys together?"

Sameera's questions and expressions were just like a high school girl who's excited over gossip and drama

Leaving a sigh, Kiara gave a rough summary of what actually happened on how she met him in the morning later saw him again here and got stuck in the same lift.

"Wait, wait, wait__ so you don't know who he is?" Sameera loudly asked in a surprise after listening to everything, causing her colleagues, who got back to their work, to look in her direction.

"Who is he?" Kiara asked in confusion, genuinely curious over what's this all about.

"He's Ali Arya. You know the prince of players in our city. The most handsome man and also one of the best bachelors in our city." Sameera said overecaggering a little due to her own likeness, "He's also our CEO. How can you not know him?"

Hearing Sameera's words, Kiara finally remembered where had she heard that name before.

'Ali_ Arya' she muttered, as if trying to remember the name, while scenes of their conversation played in her mind.

Remembering how she badmouthed him and his company in front of him, or how she compared him to an imposter and called him a sellsman, causing her face burned crimson bright in embarrassment.

'He really can kick me out of this company.' She thought and smimed.
