All is not lost...

Suddenly I opened my eyes and my breathing wasn't stable. I stood up from the bed and drank some water. I wasn't in my right mind.

On the other hand Zill led the army towards the south. The destination was same, but routes were different.

"Captain! Is there anything bothering you?" Asked Lian Betten vice-captain of the royal guards.

"Yeah..." he replied with a sigh.

"Lian the look of sadness in her eyes. I can't get over it. It felt like a look when the expectations you were holding up shatter to pieces in one go."

"I'm sorry captain but I don't know who are you taking about. " he replied in confusion.

"Forget it, tell me the condition of the border, has the war stopped." He asked.

"No, sir but attempts for talks are being made" he replied in a professional manner.

"Good, I'm going in the camp I need to rest a little." he replied.

Ava, why can't I stop thinking about your face. Why does it makes me feel so anxious as if somethings piercing my heart. Where did things go wrong from the moment I saw you trying to protect that old lady or the day I saw you Infront of the library no maybe the day I saw you cry like a baby. Yes, the day you cried on my shoulder and decided to rely on me that was the day when I started feeling strange. I wish we still have hope he thought.

"The elf prince??" I asked the old lady who I met at inn. There were no tables empty so I asked her if I could sit next to her. After travelling through ship for two weeks I reached the small village located on the outskirts of elf mountains. Elf mountains were named because of the legend that says one who has even a little portion of elf magic would be able to enter the land of elves located on the mountains.

"Not so long ago, before these wars began elves and humans used to live together their children played together on these mountains. I had a friend too who was an elf but then humans began to fight bloodshed and war was the only thing those elves despised. They withdrew from the human land and created a boundary. Now, when I reached the age when humans feel all alone their little birds fly out of nests, leaving parents alone, I remember each and every forgotten memory" she said with a sorrowful smile.

I hold her hand in mine while giving her a warm smile. "Do you have a place to live?" She asked me.

I looked at the luggage next to me and replied "No...".

That's how I ended up coming to her little hut.

"Mam, I am going to the market." I said and head out.

The village had a small market but all necessities of life were available there. My eyes stopped at a stall that had pretty jewels and bracelets. I went close to look when I heard a women shouting at a small kid.

"How dare you try to steal, you filthy creature" she shouted.

The kid was wearing a hood that covered his face.

I turned towards them and asked "Excuse me mam may I know what the problem is?".

Instead of replying me she slapped the child with all her power. The child fell on the ground. Seeing this I pushed the women and picked the kid up in my arms. He was light as feather something about him wasn't normal. A normal kid would cry but not a single tear came out of his eyes.

"Who are you and why are you helping this lowly theif?" The women again shouted.

"Mam, please stop calling this child a thief. I would pay the money, I am his older sister" I replied.

She took the money and went back. I looked at the child in my arms and lowered his hood a little he had big sky blue eyes and a skin as white as ice. Looking at his face he didn't looked like a beggar infact he looked like young prince.

The boy looked at me with shimmering eyes and said "You... Are not a normal human." The language I heard wasn't our native language but still I could understand it. Something felt odd and weird.
