Exhausting Training Session

Somehow Kell managed to survive Ian's wrath, but it was a close one. If not for Fiona holding him back, they would have a funeral in this fine morning.

Kell stopped teasing Ian for a while. Soon, after the physical exercise was over and the two most unfit people in the entire world looked like the angel had come to bless them, they walked their separate ways, after all, they split their group into two different squads for a reason.

Fiona had thought with Ian having the same stamina level as her, it would be easier. Unfortunately, she was dead wrong.

"Huh, huh, huh," she panted, exhausted after using Light for who knew many times already.

"You need to work on your mana reserve, while you now use Arcana Shot. It is your Light that will be the biggest asset for us

Your Light could be used to blind the enemies, allowing the others to kill them more easily. So, you need to be able to control what you can cast.

From simple weak Light to light up a chamber to a bright one that is almost like a miniature star and makes the enemies scream in agony.

That is what we are working on today. So I want to see more Light!" Ian yelled at her, similar to how a captain of a town's guard would yell to their soldiers.

She hoped the other was alright, but with how intense their supposed morning exercise was, she did not have much hope.

Both Ana and Lisa slump on the ground, their mouth greedily sucking on air as they tried to recover their energy and stamina.

"Come on, I was going easy on you," the source of their exhaustion, with his blonde hair looking luxurious as always compared to their sweety and unkempt ones.

He had forced them to perform multiple swings, correcting their stance so that they could perform their action better.

'However, does he have to make us swing more than 100 times?!' Ana screamed inside her head.

She would have hurled curses if not for the fact Kell actually did double their regime, and yet he looked fine while they looked like shriveled corpses.

She hoped this session would end soon.

"The swinging session is over," thank God.

"Now, it is time for the bashing and blocking," screw gods.

"Hah, hah, hah," Fiona panted, the training dummy in front of her looked like cheese at that moment.

"Very good, now let's work on your aim. Step 10 step back. If you miss, you will need to create and hold Light at the low level for 10 seconds," if not for the fact the number of training dummies on his side already piling up, she would have hurled abuse at the man.

As time passed by, the destroyed training dummies began to pile up, and Fiona found herself slowly seeing darkness.

'It should be that night is approaching, right?' was her last thought before she lost consciousness.

"Argh!" Ana yelled as she was sent flying once again. Up against Kell, who is stronger and somehow faster than her despite being much bigger, she could not do much but try to avoid as many blows as possible.

Besides her, also lying on the ground, was Lisa, suffering the same fate as she did. Except, Kell was more gentle with her. She is still sent flying like a ragdoll, but the force behind his attack is less powerful compared to what she had to suffer.

However, this time, she felt exhaustion creeping in. Ana tried to stand up, after all, it was not even noon yet, but she was already so tired.

Despite her best attempt, she fell to the ground, darkness claiming her vision.

"Urgh," Fiona groaned, trying to stand up though it was a bad idea, considering she was hit by the mother of all headaches.

She soon felt someone holding her shoulder, before she felt being lifted. Thankfully, she could still stand, but it took all of her energy to do such a simple feat. She did not think she could walk at the moment though that doesn't mean she would stop trying.

She opened her eyes, to see cyan orbs looking at her with relief. "Ian," she croaked before she was pushed into a sitting position, a hand on her head and massaged it.

"Are your headaches gone, or are they still there?" Ian asked, Fiona just nodded as she did not think she could speak much at the moment except for some groaning

"Here, drink this," she felt a cold tip brushing against her lips. She opened her mouth, allowing the opening of the bottle to be tipped as cold water quenched the sudden thirst she felt.

"What about the others?" she said hoarsely, her throat dry despite the drink.

"They are over there," Ian pointed in a direction. Fiona turned her head, regretting that decision immediately as she felt another blow to the head at the moment.

As her vision cleared, she could see the others lying down, unconscious like she was before.

"Kell decided to have them fight against him, at once. It didn't go well for them both," 'No kidding,' Fiona wanted to say but the head-splitting headache at the moment prevented her from voicing her thought.

"I already cast heal on them, but your headache is a different story. For me to heal that, I need to know a spell that could help against mental fatigue," Ian told her.

She decided to stay like this for a while, especially if she got this good massage on her head. If not for the horrible headache, she would not have minded being unconscious from mana deprivation.

Soon, she heard groaning from the other two. Ana opened her eyes first, before sitting, Lisa following her suit after.

As their eyes met with each other, Ana and Lisa said at the same time, "Tough training?"

"Yeah, so did you," Fiona replied. At that moment, Kell entered the room with a smile.

"I hope you are hungry because there is a good tavern just nearby," Kell said, though the other two huddled next to each other, looking at him warily.

"Looks like you managed to scare them off," Ian told Kell, who shook his head.

"But that is the easy one," both Ana and Lisa had a horrified look at that moment. Even if she could not read her mind, Fiona could tell what was inside their head.

'What did he mean by easy one?!'

"How about yours, how much did you push her?" Kell asked Ian this time.

"Well, I pushed her to her limit. After lunch, we are going to have a sparring session," seeing the terrified look on her face, Ian tried to placate her.

"I will hold back," he assured the blonde, who still looked terrified but less so at the moment.
