Sighing, I walked to him and sat on my knees. /"I will be okay. I promise Jett./" Wiping his tears from his face, I smiled at him.
/"Please don’t go./"
A tear rolled down my cheek. It hurt to look at my grumpy, funny, drama queen Jett crying. And it killed me that I was the reason. /"I have to find Nova, Jett. And…/" My voice stuck in my throat. I couldn’t tell him about Rodor, could I? I didn’t want to worry him. But also I couldn’t bear it all by myself.
/"Why are you keeping secrets from me?/" Jett’s voice trembled. /"You know I’ll always be by your side./"
/"It’s too complicated Jett. And… there are a lot of things I have to deal with before I come back for good. When all of this is over, I promise you, we will go back to our cave, away from all this mess./" I cupped his face and kissed his forehead.
