Bon Voyage

I entered the street with an inn near the port. It was night but the bars were still lively near the sea, with the smell of toxins and money. I pushed past the crowded bar to get to the register. The register man looked at me and asked "Need a room, twelve silver per night." 

'It's cheap.' 

The money system is quite simple here, twenty bronze coins are equal to one silver and twenty silver is equal to one gold. So the inn I was staying at in the country was expensive for a middle class man. Well it's not really a problem for me since I am rich. 

I nodded and handed the man some coins and said "One night." 

"There are ten more than needed?" he looked at me in confusion.

"Send some beer with a simple sider to that table." I said pointing to the far left corner table.

The man, realizing what I needed, nodded and handed me a key. 

"Room 202." 

I turned and crossed the crowd again and had my seat at the table. 

"They took everything, the map, the ship and the last bottle of rum." A sailor sobbed on the table beside me. 

"There there what do you expect? They are pirates." the other sailor comforted the sobbing one. 

Their conversation continued like that. I zoned out of it, not that interested in stuff like that.

"What did they expect when they set sail in the season of pirates and mermaids?" Suddenly a man kept his beer on my table and sat opposite of me. 

"They need to have an intelligent captain and strong crew men to pass through the sea this time of the year." The man picked his glass and had a huge gulp of it. He slammed the glass again on the table and continued "setting off in the sea is no fun without things like danger, hahaha, you know that even the safe sea routes are not safe if you decide to travel near the harvest festival."

He was talking with such great interest that I was left stunned. He had a great body, with a normal length beard. His brown hair was a mess but his black eyes were deep. From his clothing he was a ship captain that transports goods even in the worst of the worst weathers. 

He continued on talking while my food and beer arrived. His cup was also refilled and he raised his glass for a cheer. I lifted my glass with a smile and moved with his rhythm. 

'Nothing wrong with having a little fun right.'

"Hey so as I was saying today's sailords are such cowards, always searching for a safe route, never enjoying the luxury of the sea and thrill of traveling dangerous waters." He took another big gulp of beer and continued "they fear mear mermaids when they have not even heard the bewitchment of the sirens."

I took a sip of the beer and put some peanuts in my mouth. Nodding with whatever he talks about.

"It's been sixty years since I have started sailing and I have experienced so many things I could write a book about it, but alas I don't know how to write. But it's fine as long as you know how to sail and communicate with your voice." 

He suddenly stopped talking and looked at me. I had removed my hood because of the heated atmosphere. "By the way I forgot to introduce myself, I am Clark Rylan captain of The Silver Crow, pleasure to meet you mate."

I stopped mid way of drinking and looked at the muscular man in front of me with a shocked face. 

'What are the chances haha. He is Clark Rylan the greatest captain and a former pirate hunter. He is also known as the "the crow" because of his crow-like eyes. How did I not notice this?'

I took a huge sip and placed the beer down and said with a nonchalant expression "I am Kaan nice to meet you to mate." 

"So what brought you to the sea, looking from your mannerism you are from the country."

I raised an eyebrow before chuckling and saying "Just on a voyage to the sea." 

"Any destination in mind." 

"The great coral reef." 

The man showed a huge smile that reached his eye to eye and said "well you have good luck mate, my ship is heading there as well to get the seasonal goods, if you don't mind we can take you." 

My eyes widened "really."

He nodded like a huge puppy. 

"Well thank you. Then as a token of appreciation the drink is on me." 

The man laughed out loud and we continued our conversation till the captain in front of me passed out.

We entered in one of the meeting rooms of the frost palace. Skyler and Sofia both sat in chairs around the table and I just stood there with my arms crossed. They looked at me in confusion and Skyler asked me "why are you standing?"

"I have to leave soon so can't waste time."

Skyler nodded and asked both me and Sofia "I just want to know whose side you both will choose since both weapons and information are important in war." 

Both me and Sofia looked at each other then back at Skyler and with serious expression we said in unison "Lord Ice King." 

Skyler sighed and showed her defeated expression. 

She looked at Sofia and said "The dwarf had agreed to join the north, so even if you are on his side you can't possibly do anything." 

"I may be a member of the tribe but my loyalty will stand with him and him only. I will travel and be by his side whenever he has my needs." 

Skyler nodded and just skipped asking me. But she said "Leia at least send the necessary information our way for the safety of the organization." 

I smirked and said "what are you talking about, the information is already on your desk." 

Skyler frowned.

I turned around and said "I am leaving since you have no job for me at the moment," I looked over my shoulder and continued "I will be using the teleportation formation by the way." 

And I made my exit.
