Getting To Know The World.

Alex closed the book and looked up.

"I messed up," he said with a sigh. The thing the book showed him was very interesting.

He only saw a few glimmers of his life, but he could see colorful people all around moving. They were kind; he could see it from the book. The village looked normal, and even his home looked clean.

"What was that weird moss I saw, or what was the blood I saw... just what the hell is going on here? I don't understand it, man." Alex leaned on the tree and started to think.

He could now go back and try to understand what was going on. That would mean trusting the book that he didn't know at all, or he could continue to move around the forest, finding his way to survive.

"No, I need to go back, at least before I find out what this world is and what is the book I see in my mind. Oh wait, can't I just..." Alex closed his eyes and called out.

"Book of Prehistory," he called out to the book.

The beautiful green book unfolded in front of him, and a feather pen appeared inside.

"Okay, let's see." Alex put his hand on his chin and wrote what he wanted to know.

~Insufficient coins

An error-like message appeared in the book, and he saw this text.

"Oh, come on!!!" Alex almost threw the book to the ground.

"Book of Almanaxh," he called out to the book.

"I see, looks like I don't have coins, huh..." Alex sighed. He looked at his sword and decided to go back.

Alex had a good memory; he would be able to find his way back.

--

Three hours later.

Moving for this much surprisingly didn't tire Alex out; he still felt fresh, like the moment his body wanted to get tired, some energy reinvigorated him immediately.

This was a creepy feeling. He could only think of a feeling of really wanting to pee but not being able to do it; it was a weird feeling.

"Remind me how I can earn coins, Book," Alex called out.

"I see, so when I killed the bullet ant, I got like 3 coins? Wow." Alex shook his head and finally saw the village.

He opened his eyes wide; now he could see where he was well.

It looks like he was indeed mistaken to assume the ghost town was this place; he could see beautiful green scenery in front of him right now.

People moving around doing their jobs, birds flew in the air, the houses looked normal, the sounds of wailing disappeared, and the entirety of this place looked like a normal European village in the Middle Ages.

Alex took a deep breath and went in.

"Oh, look who is back." Some people noticed him and called out.

"Hahahahahah, greetings." Alex's eyes twitched; he didn't have an idea who these people were. He didn't even have the slightest memory of this place.

"You had your fun? You lasted more than I expected, Alex." A young man working to cut the woods to make a fire called out.

"(I see, my name is still Alex) Well, you know... how things go," Alex responded and went towards his house.

He looked at the door and opened it.

--

"Wow..." Alex noticed his house once again; it turned completely upside down on what he saw before. There were no broken walls or dusty shelves here; it was fully cleaned.

"How is this possible? I felt the liquid on my hand, and the moss could be smelled in the air. I even saw the moss on the fireplace." Alex thought he was in a dream. What was that weird thing he came here for?

"You are here? Welcome back, Alex." A lady came out from the door. She wore the traditional leather outfit, had leather corsets on, her hair was tied beautifully in a knot that had 3 points, her eyes and hair were beautiful green colored, and her skin was pretty as white jade.

An extremely beautiful woman overall.

"Hello... Mom..." Alex guessed who this was.

"What's wrong with you now? Come here; your dad is going to come back from the hunt. Help me put the plates down." She was carrying plates filled with food, and in the center of the room, Alex could see a table for 5. He nodded and helped her set the table.

"(Fuck... I don't know her name)" Alex was cursing what to say in his mind. He knew the personality of Alex in this world was a cheerful little guy, a motivated swordsman in training, but he didn't feel like acting now.

"You are weirdly quiet today... ohhhh... again, huh?" Mom looked down at Alex and saw how quiet he was.

"What again?" Alex looked up.

"You tried to escape and couldn't again... you know? Many of our villagers tried to do that in generations; none of them could even glimpse past the perimeter of the forest." Mom responded.

"Yes... I indeed tried to escape," Alex said, which was partially true.

"(So this entire village is in some closed-off forest... from the outfits, I can see that this world is looking quite like medieval Europe... or maybe they are far behind in technology, and some things didn't reach here yet)" Alex thought about it in his mind.

He wanted to ask some basic questions, but he held back; Alex didn't want to be seen as too weird.

That would raise some questions.

He would just wait to gain enough coins to ask for the book instead.

They made the table finally and sat down.

It was awkward.

You would even hear a fly passing by; Alex was sweating. He didn't know what to say, do, or eat. What if this world had different ways to eat? What if he didn't ask good questions and got found out? These were things that were haunting him in his mind. He was in front of an unknown person he just met right now, and he was supposed to act knowledgeable already.

It wasn't easy to do something like that.

"Sooo.. cough... have you... uhmmm... eaten?" Alex smiled and asked.

Mom looked up and looked at Alex weirdly.

But before their conversation went to shit, they heard a voice.

"JANNESE!!! COME OUT!!!" The door opened, and a powerful-looking man came in. He had enormous muscles, brown hair and brown eyes, and leather armor on him, tanned skin as well.

Alex was so frightened he jumped up from the chair.

"ROY???!!! WHAT'S WRONG!!!" Jannese jumped up from the table and looked at the man who was covered in blood.

"COME OUT!!! THIS IS AN EXCITING NEWS!!!" Roy didn't say anything more and exited the home.

"Come, let's see what happens." Jannese rushed away worried.

Alex stood there for a moment stunned.

"Damn... I need to get used to this, don't I..." He sighed and went out. Let's see what would happen.
