Chapter 15

When Elen finished treating the little boy, I lay him down beside me and gently caress his face. He has a dirty blonde hair and he looks so cute. Base on his appearance, I think he's between the age of 7 and 9, he looks so young to have these wounds and bruises. Elen told me that maybe he stole something, that's why people hurt him but I think that's too much, beside he already has a small body and they even do this. Krios didn't say anything at all, he just rides his horse silently and he would give us quick glances every now and then.

When we arrive at the City of Novern Isle, we hurriedly enter the mansion where we're staying. I didn't know that Krios bought a mansion here but let's set aside that for now, this kid needs proper care. I slowly lay him down and immediately tell the maids to bring lukewarm water and clean clothes. As I wipe his body, I can feel tears starting to build up in my eyes, I just can't take it if I see a child being mistreated like this and my motherly instinct immediately kicks in.

I feel his body twitch a little and slowly he opens his eyes and when his eyesight becomes clear, his eyes widen and he immediately curled up in the left corner of the bed. He started to tremble and murmur something. I slowly approach him and making sure I won't scare him. I gently tap his shoulder and he slowly look back at me. I smile at him and say, "Hi, there's no need to be scared, I'm not going to hurt you. I am Liliana Eagleton, I am the Duke's wife, you can trust me."

He slowly moves towards me and he suddenly kneel in front of me. I immediately touch both of his shoulder and said, "Stand up, you don't need to do that." I guide his body back to the bed and look at him, he looks like a robot, he doesn't have any emotions at his face, he doesn't look scared or sad at all. When I was about to talk to him but I heard his tummy rumbles and I realize that he hasn't eaten anything at all. I reach out for the snacks beside his bed and gently put it on his hand. He looks at me with a confused look and I said, "Eat it, I know how hungry you are. Our meal is currently being prepare so eat this for now."

He took a bite from the macaron and his face immediately lights up. He happily stuffs his mouth with snacks and I just smile while watching him. He still a child who loves to eat sweet things. After a few minutes, he finished eating everything and I saw that he has crumbs all over of his face. I took out my handkerchief and gently wipe his face. I also comb his hair with my hand so that he won't feel hot, especially he just finished eating. He has a long hair and that makes him look like a girl. I took out a hair tie and gently tie his hair into a neat bun. Now he looks much better!

He looks so shock but I just gently smile at him and said, "If you still feel sleepy, you can go back to sleep again. There's still time before our meal is ready and I'll wake you up if it's ready." I help him tuck in into his bed and I sit beside him. I gently tap his shoulder as I sing him a lullaby. After a few minutes, his sleeping deeply and the truth is, our meal is already prepared but I signal the maid outside the room not to bring it in. He need to take a rest for now and he already have eaten something and that's enough. It would be hard if we feed him too many foods immediately, we need to make sure his tummy gets used to the food before he can eat whatever he wants.

When I make sure he's sleeping already, I slowly walk out from his room. I saw Krios standing outside with his hands cross at his chest. When he saw me, he immediately said, "How's the kid? Is he doing fine?" I nod my head and reply, "Yes, he ate some snacks but he went back to sleep." Krios just nod his head and walks away. Let's set aside our fight with Krios for now and focus on how to help this kid, I immediately call the maids and ask if they have clothes that might fit for him but they only have clothes that can fit for Xino. Well, it's not really a problem, I can just sew the sides to make it small. I ask them to bring it to me and I go back into his room again.

The maids enter the room with a box of clothes and I immediately get to work. My mom in my past life, taught me that if a clothes too big, you can make it into your size by sewing the each side of the clothes but sew it on the inside. I don't want to wake him up so I put the clothes on top of him to see how much I need to sew. After that, I start to sew each clothes.

It was already afternoon when I finished and I saw that he woke up. I smile at him and walk towards him. I sit beside him and said, "How's your sleep? Did you have a good sleep?" I brush his bed hair and tie his hair again. I call the maids to bring some water he can use to take a bath. I help him clean his body and throughout the process, he was blushing and I just laugh softly when I saw it. After cleaning his body, I help him wear the clothes I just sew and he looks so cute! I braid his long blond hair and put some hairpins on his bangs, so that he can see well. Now he looks good! I also need to change into new clothes because I drench in sweats so I said, "I also need to prepare, I am just in the next room so wait for me here okay? I'll be back after a few minutes" He nods his head and proceed to sit at his bed.

I immediately tell Elen and the other maids to help me prepare. After a few minutes I'm done and I hurriedly walk towards his room. When I enter his room, I saw him sitting on his bed while swaying both of his legs. I walk towards him and gently tap his shoulder, he looks up and I smile softly at him. I offer my hand and we walk together towards the dining area.
