Chapter 11
Ever since the day Lady Sofia introduced herself, things become much happier than before. Every week, Xino would send us a letter, telling us he's doing well in the academia and how's his day go. Also, Lady Sofia would send me a letter too, she said that she is an orphan that is currently staying at St. Claire Orphanage. I think that orphanage is one of the chosen organization Krios is supporting. She also stated that she finds me beautiful and would like to me when she grew up. I laugh softly at what she said, well, children tend to say that they want to be like the person they find beautiful and handsome. I remember before, I would try to act the way as those models that I have seen in the TV. Lady Sofia also stated that she will be performing next month on the winter ball and that is when I realize something. Lady Sofia is the female lead of the side story of this novel! Before, the author released a special chapter to celebrate the anniversary of the novel and on that special chapter contains the love story of the adult Xino and the adult Sofia. In the future, Xino will become a high rank knight, just like his uncle and Lady Sofia will become a famous performer. They meet during one of the four seasons ball, where Lady Sofia dance gracefully and among the crowds, there was Xino standing watching every move she makes and every time Lady Sofia would make a turn, hers and Xino's eyes would meet.
After Lady Sofia's performance, she walks towards Xino and ask, "Mr. Knight, are you alone? Do you mind if I sit beside you? My feet are killing me now." and of course, Xino being a knight, he can't say no and he just nod his head to show his approval. After that night, they would frequently meet and during those times, both of them develop feelings for each other. Those special chapters, how did I forget about them? that is one of the crucial part of this story! I immediately replied to Xino letter saying; "I'm proud of you Young Master Xino. I hope you'll do well and focus on your studies. Don't mind us here because we are doing well. We will visit you again when the academia allows it. Always take care and we love you." After I sealed Xino's letter, I replied to Lady Sofia's letter saying; "It was nice to meet you Lady Sofia, it was a shame we didn't talk a lot that day but I hope the day where I can talk to you for a long time will come. Also I love your performance and I am hoping to see it again this winter ball. I hope you do well in the Academia." After I sealed Lady Sofia's letter, I ask the head butler to send it to the academia.
Next month will be the start of the winter ball and for sure, the whole mansion is panicking preparing everything. From sending letters to various merchant, inquiring every jewelers and buying this and that. Even Krios is quite busy this past few days, he would go back and forth to the capital because the King is calling him for the preparations for the winter ball. Also the King, Dendric Raven, he is the current King of this Kingdom. After he killed his 4 brothers for the crown, he achieved his goal. Well, he is greedy when it comes to power and fame. Even if it is not known to the public, I know his very little dark secret and all of his ugly sides. I don't know why Liliana is so fixated to this guy. Well, he's handsome, with white hair, the same of those angels, he's tall and has a good built too and of course, he has the power and fame. I know something happened that makes Liliana cling to Dendric like a loach but I forgot about it.
While I was thinking about what happened in the novel, the head butler, together with the head maid and Elen enter my office. Behind them are four to six people. The head butler said, "Greetings My Lady, here are the merchants, jewelers and tailors what will help you prepare for the upcoming winter ball." Wait, what? I stand up and reply. "But I didn't call anyone, are you sure they come to the right place?"
The head butler fakes a cough and reply, "It was Master Krios who called them. Because Master Krios is currently busy with his works and can't help the Lady to prepare, that is why he called these persons. Also Master Krios said that this winter ball's preparation has no budget so feel free to buy everything you want as this is the way Master Krios can show his support."
I don't know how to react to what the head butler said. Krios prepared all of this for me? Tears starts to come out from my eyes and I sob silently. No one ever did this to me before. Way back to my real world, I was the youngest daughter of a wealthy family but I never felt loved by them. Treating me like as if I'm just a wind passing them and like as if I never have existed in their life. It was fine for me, because even if they are treating me like that, they still sent me to a good school and I get to graduate in an elite university. After getting my degree, I left them and they didn't even flinch or make me stop but I think it was good for us to go to a different path.
They started to take my body measurements and I stand up like a doll. I didn't flinch or move a little, scare that I might make their job hard. After taking my body measurement, the tailors excused themselves and I start to look at every jewelry the jewelers prepared. Because I decided to wear a gold dress, I choose a ruby necklace where the ruby pendant is located at the center and the necklace itself is made of diamonds. Gosh, this necklace would cost a fortune way back in my real world. I also choose a ring that has a small onyx on it because I remember Xino's fluffy black hair when I saw it. Lastly the bracelet, I choose a simple silver bracelet that has a butterfly at the center. After making a final decision, the jeweler pack every accessory I like as I move on to talk to the merchants for my shoes and other stuff. I choose a black D'Orsay styled shoes and choose a black clutch.
It took hours to finalize everything and as soon they leave the mansion, I immediately sit down and release a sigh of relief. Elen pour me a cup of tea and take out a jar of sweets. I immediately take a sip of tea and I feel fresh after it. Elen really does knows what I like. Elen also sat down beside me and cutely eat a piece of cookie. I ruffled her hair because of her cuteness and her face immediately reddens. It makes me sad to see that she is still young but she need to work to survive. But I also go through that, where there are times my parents won't give me allowance and I have no choice but to work every afternoon until night. I am planning to send her to the academia as a student and at the same time, as Xino's assistance while he's staying there. Beside, Elen and Xino has the same age so for sure they will be together throughout their stay at the academia. I will discuss this when Krios come back but for now, I want to enjoy this snacks with Elen.
