Chapter 43

We woke up late because we stayed up late but I at least woke up before Jennie. I had to discuss my plan for finding out the truth with Jennie but because we slept without noticing it, I couldn't tell her so I decided to tell her on our way to school. After getting ready for school, we had breakfast and drove out of the compound. On our way , I started the conversation.

"Urhm Jennie ", I called her name.

"Yes"

"I was thinking about the incident that happened before my admission to the school", I started.

"Which incident?", she asked looking confused.

"I mean the reason for the fight between Ryder and Keenan "

"Why should you be thinking about that", she chuckled.

" I just think there's something off about the whole incident "

"The case was not really investigated that much before Juan moved to California so it was closed and Ryan was punished , what else is there to find?"

"Good you just said there wasn't any serious investigation, there's more to this case than just what was seen"

"What are you trying to say Ash?"

"All I'm trying to say is that, maybe Juan just wanted a way to get rid of her relationship with Keenan so she used Ryan "

"Don't say things you don't know Ash, you might get into trouble", she warned like a big sister.

"I know what I'm talking about Jennie, there's something you don't know"

"Stop talking nonsense, I was in Winchester before you arrived, what is it that you know that I don't know?"

"The fact that Ryan was with Keenan when Juan claimed she was raped", I simply stated the fact.

"What do you mean by that?", she asked fixing her gaze on me.

"Are you now interested?", I smirked.

"Just get to the point Ash", she yelled at me.

"Relax miss…., I got this information from Keenan last night while you and your lover boy were enjoying"

"You …mean…Keenan told you he was with Ryan during that time?", she asked surprised.

"Exactly "

"Then how did Ryan rape Juan if Keenan was really with him?"

"That's the main question to be asked, …that was why I kept thinking about it"

"Wait a minute…., does that mean Juan wasn't raped or she didn't see the rapist clearly?"

"That's what we have to find out", I said with determination lingering inside me. Soon enough, we arrived at the school gate and drove inside to park it Ryan's car was there, meaning he was already in school. I felt happy for seeing his car at least I knew he was fine after all. I didn't know my emotions was drawn on my face that Jennie was just staring at me.

"What's with this mood", she asked me folding her arms.

"Why, what's wrong with my mood?", I asked pretending not to have known what she was talking about.

"You are happy…. no not happy, you are actually blushing"

"Blushing? Oh please Jennie, let's get to class", I tell her and we moved out heading towards class. We had get some stuffs from the locker but when we got there, Ryan was leaning on my locker as if he was waiting for someone. I didn't want him to start his things so early so I told Jennie I'd come get what I needed later. We pass by him and he called out my name.

"Ash", he mentioned and I felt my heart was tense. Why did he have to mention my name like that. I stopped and turned to look at him smiling at me.

'What has come over this boy? Did he know how to smile like this?', I thought.

"What can I do for you", I asked coldly.

"I just want to have a talk with you, could you spare me a minute of your time?", he asked politely. Ryan Parker being polite was something that's totally off.

"Well, as you can see, we are heading towards class and I have no business with you so if you don't mind, we would be on our way", I said and walked away but stopped in my tracks. "One thing else, only my friends can call me Ash and the last time I checked, you are not one of them so it's Aislin for you", I said and with that we were out of his sight. Jennie tried stopping me but I just didn't want to mind her. I even thought walking out on him would anger him for him to stop us but he didn't, he just let us go.
