Episode 2 - She Doesn't Want to Meet Him? (8)

Basil continued to teach him sword techniques every day. Varest ability used the sword is increasing from day to day. Sometimes his hands could be injured because holding a wooden sword. But Basil is always treating his wound so quickly improved.

Practicing without stopping, every day, every hour, every second. This young man is focused on his practice. He received all kinds of praise with caution. Make all of it as additional lessons and reminders. Without everyone realizing until one day.

"Varest?! Varest?! Call the physician quick!" Basil worried and carried him inside the mansion.

This young man is unconscious with his warm body.

"He's tired because has been receiving a lot of exercises. The human body is very weak if not getting enough rest."

His fever makes Basil worried. The Grand Duke Physician checked his condition. He also said there's nothing to worry about. Varest will be fine and just need some rest.

Even so, Basil doesn't look calm and he put out a cold sweat. He's finally want to get some fresh air. The physician and the servant is the one who'll keep him safe while he's not there.

"Come to me if something bad happens to her and treated him well!"

This man headed to the training ground they practiced earlier. He accidentally saw the wooden sword. He swung the wooden sword into the air and fight against the doll. His heart was upset while remembering something wrong. He threw the wooden sword until crushed to smithereens.

"Is there something troubling you?"

"Yeah...Varest has a high fever because of me. Vanessa will be angry with me. I promise her to take care of him."

He spoke without looking at the person.

"If I scold you, Will you be afraid?"

"Of course...right...WHAT?!"

Without even knowing the person who asked me, I turned around. Since when did she get here?

"What will happen, huh?" She asked.

Basil with a very dramatic apology on her feet. "I'm sorry, Vanessa. He was sick since this morning. I'm sorry!"

"Hey, Hey, Hey. Don't be so dramatic. He's fine."

"Hah?"

She explained what happened. "He just has a little fever. He will not die that easily. Now get up from your ugly position."

Basil listen to her and see her face. Vanessa suddenly pinched his face.

"How could you make he hurt like this? I also heard that his feet hurt because take some books from the library. What has happened when I'm not here?"

"I'm...really sorry...I didn't...mean it." He spoke dashed.

Vanessa release her pinch and headed into the Grand Duke mansion. Basil followed her from behind. The servants and the knights were surprised by her arrival. They immediately give a bow as she passed. Arriving at the front of her door. She opened the door and found that Varest was lying weak on the bed.

She holds his warm hands. A magic circle appears. Big energy enters into Varest's tiny body. His face that looks pale instantly back to normal.

"Did you drain your power to him? You shouldn't do that, you know?" Basil asked.

"Just a little."

His body can more improve now. The human body is fragile. The weak creatures like you can die that easily.

"...He resembles him a lot." Vanessa stared at his sleeping face.

I don't want to like this. I have to focus on the objectives that have been set. My attention should not be distracted by small issues.

Knock...Knock...Knock...

"My Lady, the Grand Duke is on the way." Said a knight.

Small problems are removed while the major problem is solved.

"Basil...Take care of him for a while. Can I count on you?"

The smile of a beautiful girl who sincerely asked for help in front of the man. The man just smiled at her and said with his bitter face.

"Good luck dealing with your Father, Vanessa."

I'll wait for you here with him. Beware, my little butterfly.

The next day, in the Grand Duke's mansion. Varest feels better and starts his activities as usual. He began to learn to use swords again with Basil.

Varest...feel the terrible part is going to happen soon. In his heart, there is something unusual. But he did not know what it is. He can't focus at all.

"Are you not feeling well? You can get some rest." Basil comes to him.

"I'm fine, Your Highness. It just I feeling something unusual in this mansion."

He just said feeling something unusual? What does that mean?

"Miss Vanessa has come back yet?"

"What?"

While he looking at the Grand Duke mansion. "Somehow the mansion is changed. The servants and the knights look more formal to me. They like that back because the owner of the house has returned. Am I right?"

I'm only silent because of his words. It's true, Vanessa has come home and now she's with him. What should I tell him? Vanessa asked me not to tell everything and just act normal.

"Where are you going?!"

"I want to make sure it was true or not." Varest runs rapidly.

"Hey! You...AH! Wait for me!" Basil chased him.

I ran with a heart-pounding. If it's true that Miss Vanessa has returned. I could see her face after all these weeks. Is she alright? Would she welcome me with a warm smile?

"Varest, WAIT!"

Basil manages to go after him and grabbed his hand.

"You're not allowed to see her."

"Why, Your Highness?"

Or she doesn't want to meet me?

"I can't tell you...."

His happy feeling is gone. A thousand questions instantly popped up. Basil released the grip of his hands. He said with a face of bitterness.

"You're not allowed to meet her...just for this moment."

Why? Why does he put a sad face like that? Is there something I shouldn't know?

"Come on. Let's go back to your room."

"...Yes...Your Highness."

If this is a command from her. I must obey that command. Because I was her prey. Prey should be silent in front of his pursuer.

"Huh? Miss Vanessa?"
