It started an era, promising to mark a complete turn in the world of elite basketball. The sun rose from behind Olympus Academy and cast its golden rays on the sprawling campus leaning against the mountains. There was a buzz among the returning students in high spirits while one lone figure stood at the edge of the entrance to the academy and stared ahead at the tall buildings. His name was Ryo Tanaka, a young man just beginning his journey deep into the heart of greatness in basketball.

Ryo's admission to Olympus Academy was peculiar. The academy was known for its numerous horrific training programs and its long history of producing legends, making it a haven for anyone who had ever had big aspirations. Ryo had seemed an unlikely candidate for entry into this academy, with his scrawny build and unspectacular look. Behind his calm exterior lay a burning fire-a fire nurtured by long years of suppressed potential and an unremitting urge to prove his mettle.

From the moment he walked through those gates, a maelstrom of action enveloped him: students scurrying to and from class, coaches yelling out orders, the smell of striving heavy in the air. "Welcome to Olympus Academy!" The voice cut through the chaos. Ryo turned to find the tall and towering figure striding toward him. Legendary and famously no-nonsense, Coach Hiroshi Nakamura extended his hand. "I'm Coach Nakamura. You must be Ryo Tanaka. We've heard quite a bit about you."

He tightened his grip on the coach's hand, matching the chilled glare with determinism in his nod. "Yes, Coach Nakamura, I surely will try my best."

"Good," said Nakamura after a hint of a smile, "let's see you back that up. Follow me."

He then took them for a walk through the academy and was wide-eyed with wonder at all the high-tech facilities, huge halls of gymnastics, and courts where legends were born. They came to the central gym where a few players were in the middle of their hard practice. The squeaking of sneakers on the glitteringly high-polished parquetry cut through the air, rhythmic with the thud of basketballs.

"Meet your teammates," he said to him, nodding toward the players. "Veterans and newcomers-like yourself-jumble things up. You are going to have to fight for your place here."

Ryo nodded, continuing with the mental flashback of his newest classmates, there was Takumi Sato, a shooting star inside the academy -a man who could shoot a ball in such an explosive way- this guy was a magnetic bomb, the attention of all people drawn toward him alone. Then there was Hiroshi Tanaka, with his brainy style of play, his reading of the game. The others were all there too, each with his style and personality completing the whole cast.

All eyes from the team were upon him as soon as Ryo stepped into the gym. Brief silence enveloped the room in expectation. Ryo could feel the weight of their scrutiny, but he held his head up high to not be daunted.

"Alright, now, let's see what you've got," Nakamura said to him, flipping a basketball to Ryo. "Show us what you're made of."

With a deep breath, he started dribbling the ball as he entered the court. The training is aggressive; it stretches him to the limit, passing him through one difficult exercise to the other, checking his skills, speed, and stamina. The movements were smooth; his focus was razor-sharp. Every pass, every dribble, each shot showed evidence of years of training and buried powers.

The longer the session went on, the more Ryo managed to impress his colleagues-early skepticism turning into grudging respect. Takumi Sato watched from the sidelines, raising an eyebrow. "Not bad for a newcomer. We'll see how long you can keep it up."

I'm just getting started," Ryo said all that with a determined smile.

Practice was over, and after that, they held a small meeting where coach Nakamura went through the goals and their expectations from this season. Ryo listened, not wanting to miss one detail. Of course, that wasn't just to show off his skills but to be part of something more: to build up a team which aspires to the pinnacle of basketball. The rest were gone, and Ryo remained standing, staring out at the now-empty gym.
