Chapter 2: Lost

Blindingly bright, the room seemed to emit peace and love to the point of physical reaction. Owen faltered and knelt on the floor due to the aroma.

"I now remember why I hate this place." Owen hissed as if pained by the feeling of the room.

The room was decorated with red carpets and pictures of penguins. There was a butler waiting in the room.

"So the young master has arrived! Welcome back. The master should be here any minute now." The butler Dedrick announced from the second floor down to Owen. The two stair cases that led up to the inside balcony were carved from marble which only matched the carpets perfectly.

"I see, then I shall be at in my room." Owen announced to the staff that all walked in because of Dedrick's announcement. Dedrick was a human nothing too special about him except for his mixed colored eyes, one being purple and the other blue which matched his suit brilliantly.

Once Owen made it to his room he fell on top of his bed.

"This is terrable. This place is still too perfect!" Owen said with a look of disgust.

Hours and hours, Owen waited. He read books, played with toys he never threw away to pass time, yet his grand father didn't make it.

The next day, Owen heard a knock on his bedroom door.

"Owen, we received a letter... It's from your grandfather." Dedrick told Owen through the closed door.

Owen laid on the bed for a moment, then sprang up and collected the letter from Dedrick.

"Thank you" Owen said to be polite, but he held no patience for this letter was different than the others. This letter had weight.

The letter read "Dear Owen, my little rascal

I apologize for not being able to make it today and I won't be able to get there for a couple months.

Here is my present to you to make up for it. Keep it hidden and safe.

There are some people who would kill for this stone, don't tell a soul."

Owen's eyes lit up, like the clear night sky.

"Keep it hidden... People would kill for this...?" Owen reread it again, "my old man found trouble, hopefully it doesn't catch up to him... I should tell my friends. They would be so jealous!"

Owen pulled the rock out of the letter and put it in his pocket. Dropping the letter, he opened the window and left out of it.

Owen closed his eyes and felt his surroundings. After focusing while falling, he saw green lights flying past his face. He opened his eyes and saw that everything was outlined with green highlights. He stretched out his hand and the pillar in front of him was pulled closer to him, he then started to run along the green line that outlined the pillar. He focused harder and he headed straight to the floor. He created with his mind a extra line that didn't outline anything. He grabbed the line that he created and moved it with his focus bringing him safely to the ground. He blinked and all the color in the world came back.

"Sir Owen, your breakfast is going to get cold... Sir?!" Dedrick called through Owen's bedroom door, not knowing Owen left.

"So your telling me that this rock is worth enough to kill some one over it!?" Sarah said while eyeing Owen. Sarah was a little brat that was somehow taller that Stellan even though she was only seven. "if that's the case then... Die!!" Sarah said while play punching Owen.

"Interesting, this rock is creating it's own magic." Quote said while he was currently wearing goggles that helped him to see mana fluctuations. He was trying to be a kid genius, but to everyone he was just annoying.

"Is that rare?" Owen asked

"Beyond rare, that's impossible" Quote remarked

"Not anymore apparently." Stellan interrupted, "anyway you sure your supposed to be telling us this?" Sarah asked seriously.

"What do you mean? I trust you guys to not tell anyone." Owen said warmly

"Watch it Owen your going to make me blush!" Sarah said playfully

"You can do that?!" Stellan said being sarcastically surprised like.

"Why, you!!" Sarah said as she wrestled with Stellan.

Quote took Owen to the side as the other two were arguing.

"Hey Owen," Quote started, "I really don't think it was a good idea to tell us, I mean didn't you read what your grandfather said."

"Relax Quote," Owen replied, "I know none of you guys would ever betray me out right."

Owen played on the roof that he set up his camp on for the night. He stared at the right pointing it to the sky, trying to get the star lights reflection to bounce off it.

"How should I hide you?" Owen waited for a moment before answering his own question. "I got it."

He got up quickly off his hay bed. He ran to the edge of the roof, which was flat, and looked down at the empty street.

And held out his hand holding the rock.

"In plain sight!!"

He then dropped the rock, but caught the chain the rock was attached to it. It was now the next day and Owen attached a chain to the rock to keep it with him at all times. He then proceeded to put on the rock as a necklace, which stood out like a sore thumb. Owen felt proud of his ingenious idea.

"Love that necklace Owen!!" Sarah complimented

"Dude that looks amazing on you!!" Stellan buttered up Owen

"You sure that's a good idea?" Quote asked Owen

"Dude, stop being so pessimistic" Stellan stopped Quote

"What do you mean being pesamistic, I'm just trying to be realistic." Quote argued

"Also know as being pesamistic" Stellan replied

"Stop!" Owen yelled, quieting their bickering "I was my idea, so if things go sideways I will take the blame."

Over the course of five days, Owen received many compliments for his stone.

"Nice necklace Owen!" An old man said

"Pretty!!" A little girl said admiring the stone

"Cool rock dude!" A man told Owen moments before falling into one of Owens pranks.

"Hey Owen, can I touch the stone!" A man in a cloak asked enthusiasticly

"Sorry, I don't think I can do that." Owen answered

"Aw, but you let your friends touch it." The man pleased

"Yes and you are not amung them" Owen said sternly

"You can make an exception, right?" Someone from the shadows interrupted

"Who's there show yourself!" Owen ordered

"I'm hurt you don't even remember your own friends name!" Stellan said as he emerged from the shadows.

"Stellan it you!" Owen gave a look of relief, "why should I let him touch the stone though. It's just a touch."

"Stupid boy, this is much more than just a touch." The man kept at Owen, reaching for the stone. Owen backed away dodging his grasp.

"Owen, I need you to listen very carefully" Stellan began, "give him the stone, or else."

"And if I refuse Stellan."

"Then you die!!" Stellan's aura changed drastically.

Owen could sense it, demonic aura.

"Stellan we were friends!!" Owen tried to pleased for Stellan to return to normal

"Lies" Stellan told Owen

"I trusted you!!"

"Which was unwise." Stellan mocked, "you live you learn, Owen, but you shall die!!" Stellan's aura built up and consumed the alley from which he emerged. The area then surrounded the hooded man. The arua introduced a new stench to Owen that he would forever know.

"Demons!!" Screams and yells came from all around Owen

"Help!!"

"Save me!!"

"Aarrggg"

People right next to Owen were put to death by bandits.

"You monsters." Owen emitted out a powerful arua which outshined the surrounding arua.

"Stellan, you were the unwise!!" Owen yelled

"What, and how is that" Stellan mocked

Owen closed his eyes and focused. Lights blazed his mind.

"What are you going to cry?!" Stellan remarked

Owen focused even harder, imagining lines and they appeared.

Bright green neon lines appeared everywhere. Owen opened his eyes and the world became grey, except the green lines.

"Kill him!!" Stellan ordered the cloaked worriers.

Owen saw them all moving in slow motion, even when Stellan ordered them to kill him.

The green lines pin pointed all of the sides and corners of every object, living or dead. Lines everywhere showed Owen the path.

"Die" Stellan smirked

"No... You!" Owen yelled

Owen was surrounded, but that did not stop him. There were a total of twenty men surrounding Owen not including the rest that were purging the town, or Stellan. Owen winced in anger, before patiently waiting in place for the first incoming attack.

The first man attacked with a sword aiming for Owen's head.

"Finally" Owen muttered to himself.

There were three lines that Owen needed to move to stop this attack. The sword, the fourarm, and the bicep, were each one line. Owen turned to face the man. Owen touched the first line, the sword, and turned its degree. Owen then moved the second line, the four arm, and made them a bit more out stretched for him to swing higher. Owen then moved the third line, the bicep, and made his swing go from an angle. In the end, Owen redirected the attack and made the man stab himself right in the heart killing the man instantly. Over and over Owen did this. The longer he remains in his arua phase he grew more tired. Owen killed one by one in quick succession all of the twenty men, yet he did not attack once.

"What the.." Stellan began

"By!" Owen joked as he broke the line for Stellan's head. This killed Stellan instantly.

Owen then fell to the floor overwhelmed with exhaustion, as his arua faded.

"As expected of Odo's apprentice." A man appeared from the shadows.

"Do you guys live in this tiny alleyway or something?" Owen said

"That would be something" the man jokes with Owen. The man walked to Owen.

Owen tried to stop the man's approach but fell onto his knees.

"You should know the limits of your arua." The man plucked the chain off of Owen's neck.

"If your the bad men, then where's Odo?" Owen asked

"Dead like you soon will be." The man pulled out a crossbow from his cloak and aimed it at Owen's head.

"Nnnnooooo!!" From behind Owen Quote came and through a rock at the man, hitting the man.

"Curses" the man yelled as he remained at Quote and shot at him.

The arrow was stopped by Quote's quick reflexs, cussing both his hands to be punctured.

"Whatever, you'll both die anyway" tha man said as he vanished into the shadow.

"Owen are you okay!?" Quote ran to Owen's side.

"No, I am quite the opposite." Owen answered with tears in his eyes.

"Let go!!" Sarah yelled as she was through next to Owen and Stellan by the villagers.

"Sarah you need to protect these two, okay?" Sarah's father ordered Sarah.

"No I want to fight with you!!" Sarah yelled, but it was too late as the town elder threw a scroll down next to them, which unraveled and glowed and created a magic circle undernwath the three.

"Father!!" Sarah yelled out which distracted him causing him to be killed by oncoming cloaked worriers.

"Father!!" This time Sarah said it out of concern for her father.

"Good bye little ones, may you take revenge for our little town" the elder began, "I know it's selfish of me to ask you to take revenge for the rest of your lives, but you must for us." The elder then cut his hand with a knife and placed his hand on the magic circle that was under the three. The circle glowed even brighter and the three disapeared.

"May the gods be with you." The elder said as he turned around to face the hoard of cloaked worriers charging the few numbers of worriers they had left.

"Because they seem to not be with us any longer." The elder finished.
