By the time they emerged from the cave, the rain had steadied down to a sprinkle, and the wet forest shone with a sparkle as if reborn. Each leaf sparkled with its new life, and the earthy smell of wet soil remained suspended; this brought them onto the path with a belief in rejuvenation. Walking alongside Giorgi and Ivane, David's mind wandered. He couldn't get the well they'd crossed earlier out of his mind and mused on it as on some sort of riddle he couldn't find the answer to.
"How do you think the road continues after this place?" Giorgi's voice filled the air, breaking the silence and pulling David back.
David shrugged. "I wish I knew. I feel like we're just going forward half-blind most of the time."
Ivane raised an eyebrow, smirking. "You think that's a bad thing? I thought that was your specialty.
David smirked. "I prefer to call it 'calculated stumbling.' Sounds more impressive."
