Linri and the gang were sitting in the safe house. Everyone was doing their own thing while Linri was thinking about how to speak to Gendor when he woke up. After all, compared to him Linri and Jaime had it easy. I mean well Jaime had her own difficulties but Linri definitely had it easy. You can say that was the perk of a self-insert character. Linri's family was almost a carbon copy of his so when he transmigrated he didn't feel alienated or anything but that was the exact opposite for Gendor.
He was most likely tortured from the moment he transmigrated to this world. Well if we were to go into semantics tortured was not the right word. After all, torture is something done with the obvious intention of hurting somebody. According to the scientists who created him Alex never had any consciousness or a human soul, so obviously without any consciousness there wouldn't be any pain. Meaning it was not torturing.
Linri knew that everything he thought just now was meaningless but he had to keep himself busy. Don't get me wrong he was not afraid of talking to Gendor to him that was the easy part. What he was afraid of were his parents. Yesterday's plan had some problems, as a result, he got shot and even though they were already healing he knew that his father was most likely going to smell the blood coming off of from his body.
Goddammit! Why did he have to make him a werewolf!! First, he could not talk freely at home and now he could not even peacefully have fights. Maybe that was the answer. Linri wondered if he should get beat up on purpose again so that he would have an excuse of where the blood was coming from. That certainly was a good idea!
He also wondered another thing. Was he a masochist? I mean the moment a problem came up, it always seemed like his first solution was getting beaten up by random people. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try this at bed when he had the chance. Maybe some rope and candles? Nah, rope was too problematic but he could certainly give candles a try.
"Hey!" The one who pulled away Linri from his dreamworld was Leslie.
"Yeah?" To be fair after seeing how she looked yesterday Linri would be lying if he said he was not afraid of her. He could now understand why she felt like she needed to be an evil person. If Linri looked like that he would already be destroying towns and villages.
"The test subject is waking up..."
"Okay, let me talk to him alone for a sec."
"Well suit yourself." Leslie answered while shrugging her shoulders.
Linri made his way to the next room where they kept Gendor after kidnapping(?) him. Luke was sitting in front of the bed guarding it. After seeing Linri he got up and left the room. Linri looked at the boy sleeping in front of him. His eyelids were fluttering meaning either he was about to wake up or he was having a nightmare which also would mean he was about to wake up.
Linri sat down next to the bed and brought out a lighter from his pocket and started to play with it. It didn't take long before Gendor woke up and started to look around. When he noticed Linri he immediately backed away like a scaredy-cat. Seeing his reaction Linri lunged forward and covered his mouth with his hand. He looked like a beast about to devour his prey. It might seem like a bad idea to treat a potential friend... no that did not sound right, minion maybe? Yeah, minion sounds better. Anyway it might seem like a bad idea to treat a potential minion this way at first but he had his own reasons.
"Okay pal, no need to get scared. I am just going to ask some questions and you are going to answer them." With his free hand, Linri lit the lighter and used his flame manipulation to enlarge the flames. The fist-sized ball of flames slowly started to inch closer to Gendor's face.
"Shhh, no need to get scared! This is just a warning if you try anything funny like screaming I am just going to melt your face. If you understand just nod your dead." Gendor nodded his head while shivering.
"Good! Now let's start with something simple. What is your name?" Linri took back his hand and returned back to sitting in the chair. The flames were still burning inches away from Gendor's face and he had started to sweat. However, Linri could not tell if it was because he was scared or because the flames were too hot.
"AX0L92" Linri frowned.
"Are you sure this is your name?" Gendor nodded again.
Now, this was a problem. This answer could mean two things. The first one was that Gendor did not think that anyone else besides him transmigrated so he chose to give his test subject name. This was acceptable as it would show that he could still think clearly. The second possibility was the thing Linri feared and what pushed him to threaten Gendor in the first place. It was the possibility of him already losing his sanity and forgetting all about their original world. If it was the second one Linri would still gain a loyal minion but he would lose a great data bank about the future. After all, there was no way that he could remember everything about each and every character in the club. What happened with Leslie with yesterday was already a proof of that!
"Okay then, the second question! Why were they keeping you inside a tube in that laboratory? Were they testing on you?"
"Yes." Gendor once again gave a one-word answer.
"Really? Why were they experimenting on you? Rather what was the purpose of the experiment and did they succeed?"
"I don't know." Linri moved the fireball closer and the smell of burnt hair filled the room. Gendor's face started to turn red from all the heat.
"You don't know what!? The reason they are experimenting on you or the purpose of the experiment!" Linri started to shout now.
"Both! I really don't know anything!!" Gendor started to shout as well and he was visibly shaking. Upon seeing that Linri felt like it was time to hit the nail on the head so he dispelled his flames.
"Okay, no need to get agitated. We are all friends here. Now the last question. No matter what you answer I will let you go and you will be free to do anything. So, does the name 'Gendor' mean anything to you?" When he heard the question Gendor's face visibly changed.
Upon seeing that reaction Linri relaxed. So the person sitting in front of him was Gendor after all and he was still sane.
"No, it does not mean anything."
"Are you sure? Or do you want me to melt your face off!?" While saying this Linri's face was all smiles but his voice was so cold that it could freeze hell itself.
"No, I don't." Gendor started to visibly shake again.
"Then quickly tell me what does it mean. I won't ask twice."
"But you won't believe me..."
"Pfft! So much for the 'Living Computer'. I thought your brain could take all the information about the surroundings at once and analyse it. Come on then! First, take a deep breath and start working that brain of yours and answer my question."
When Linri mentioned his secondary ability Gendor shook once more but just like Linri said he took a deep breath and got a good look around his surroundings.
Alex's second ability was, just like Linri mentioned, 'Living Computer'. It was a passive type secondary ability just like Linri's secondary ability 'Thermal Vision'. It basically allowed Alex to gather information about everything in real-time just like a computer. It was great for detective work but aside from preventing him from getting ambushed the ability was basically useless during combat. I guess that was the reason the admins allowed him to have this kind of broken ability just as a secondary.
I mean think of it from a real-life perspective. Just how can a human use that ability in the real world. In the 19th century, a mathematician named Pierre Laplace published a book about this subject. Basically, if a human could calculate everything in real-time, he would destroy the concept known as 'chance' and maybe he could even see the future. Of course, he would not be able to predict what would happen 20 years from now on or if a dog would break his leash at the opposite side of the city. But he would be able to predict things like the trajectory of bullets or more importantly he would be able to predict the stock market and make millions from it.
If you are wondering why I mentioned the stock market, of course, that's because if a human had an ability like that the first thing he would do is use it to make money. Actually, now that I think about it whatever kind of super ability a human gets he would first think about how to make money from it but you catch my drift.
"You? But there is no way! The timing doesn't add up and neither does the personality..." After taking a good look at Linri's white hair, blue eyes and black clothing and most importantly his fire manipulation Gendor had finally figured out who he was but basically having a hard time coming to terms with it.
"Me? What about me?" Linri asked Gendor in a mocking tone. Man, it really was a nice feeling to mess with others. Maybe he was not actually a masochist but a sadist instead. Well, there was also the possibility that he was into both but that was not the topic.
"Everything indicates it's you but it can't be..." Gendor was still mumbling to himself and honestly, Linri was getting bored of waiting.
"Hey! Hey! Clone boy! Either start talking now or I am really going to melt your face off. I really hate it when people ignore me!" Of course, he had no intention of doing that but it wouldn't hurt to intimidate Gendor so that things would hurry up.
"O-okay, but before I answer is your name Linri?" Linri smiled.
"Yes, it is but I still don't know what 'Gendor' means."
"Look I know what I am about to say is crazy but you have to believe me, okay?"
"Sure! Let's hear it."
"Yo-you see, I am actually not a resident of this world." Linri made a surprised pikachu face.
"You don't say?"
"No, I am 100% serious. And you were actually a game character there." Linri's smile froze on his face. This f*cking idiot still hasn't figured it out.
"Me? A game character?"
"Yes, and I was actually a player." When he said that Gendor had a smug look in his face.
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is I controlled the actions of the body I am in and I don't know but suddenly I found myself in the body of my character."
"Dude, you are really an idiot aren't you?"
"Excuse me?"
"I mean look at your story. This whole world was actually a game and you had transmigrated into the body of your character. Are you trying to tell me that you are the protagonist of some third rate novel? That you are gonna use your knowledge about the future and make tons of money and possibly get a harem. Dude look around you this is the real world!"
Gendor started to panic again.
"B-but I really am telling the truth"
"Then are you telling me you are the protagonist?"
"I-I-I wouldn't call myself a protagonist..." Gendor started to sound meek.
"Then what? Are you some kind of chosen one sent here to save the world?"
"N-no!"
"Then what are you?"
"I don't know..." Gendor's voice was so weak that Linri could barely hear it. Still, though this guy really had some low esteem. I mean just look at how scared he became after Linri messed with him a little.
"So? You believe that you 'alone' transmigrated here?"
"Yes?"Linri put an emphasis on the word 'alone' but this guy was still not getting it. I mean the moment Linri came to this world was checking up on Jaime to see if he was alone but Gendor was not even entertaining the possibility.
"I said it before and I will say it again, you really are an idiot!"
"What?" Gendor looked at Linri blankly.
"Yeah, you heard me, an idiot!"
"Why?"
"OMFG! Okay let's start with your transmigration how did it happen?"
"We-well, I was falling in the darkness..."
"And then?"
"And then I fell to the ground... and the real Alex killed me."
"Was he alone?"
"No, there were 7 other figures..."
"And what did they look like?"
"They looked like Kou, Rondo, Linri, Akira... wait a minute! Kasaix?"
"Bingo!"
Happy Valentines day everyone!... I hope you are not alone unlike me *cries internally*
