"It is obvious that you have convinced yourself that I am the culprit and you are biased against me, so I wouldn't put myself willingly in your hands like an idiot, because I also can't trust you. You are treating me like a murderous monster with circumstantial evidence at best, but I can make a compromise," Eric said seriously.

"Why would I want to do that with you?" Headmaster Saltzman asked.

"C'mon, have I acted aggressively to anyone since I came here? I am still trying to talk my way out of this even though you are pointing your crossbow at me," Eric explained.

"I won't go into those cells, because I know you have witches here, and they probably have a way to trap me here if you say so. But I also understand that in your opinion, using my powers can potentially be dangerous to other students, so let's do it somewhere else. You can also go ahead and call the girl that you have so much faith in, to oversee it, so I won't just turn berserk,"

Eric said and then continued "That is my final compromise, if you don't want to do it in a civilized way, we can try and do it the hard way. I don't know what my power is but I know that I can easily take an arrow or two and heal almost immediately," after saying this Eric looked at Headmaster Saltzman seriously.

"Fine, I will give you a chance. But if you make even the smallest wrong move, then don't blame me for not acting civilized," Mr. Saltzman said while staring into Eric's eyes.

"Don't have a plan to," Eric said.

After saying this Mr. Saltzman took out his phone and called someone.

Mr. Saltzman: "Hi, Hope,"

Hope: "Hi Mr. Saltzman, is there anything wrong?"

Mr. Saltzman: "It is complicated, but I need your help for something,"

Hope: "Ok, so what do you want me to do?"

Mr. Saltzman: "When you get here, I will tell you,"

Hope: "Fine, but what about Landon? I can't leave him here on his own, it is dangerous,"

Mr. Saltzman: "Bring him back to school, but tell other students including Lizzie, and Josie to continue with their investigation. After arriving at the school, quickly come to the old mill as fast as possible, I will be waiting for you near it,"

Hope: "Fine, see you there,"

Mr. Saltzman: "Bye,"

Eric was able to hear all of the conversation without any problem but he wasn't able to gather any kind of useful information from the interaction between the two, other than Hope caring too much about Landon.

"Follow me," Mr. Saltzman said, and after saying that from the same cell that he brought out the crossbow, he took a bag, and put the crossbow inside of it.

Without saying anything Eric followed Mr. Saltzman to the stairs. He followed Mr. Saltzman and the duo left the building without anyone noticing because it seemed that the students were inside their classrooms.

After walking for a few minutes in the silence Eric finally broke it "This school has a pretty good scenery, doesn't it?"

Mr. Saltzman didn't answer but stared at Eric intently then continued to walk. Sighing Eric followed him again without saying anything else.

After walking for a few more moments they finally reached in front of a three story dilapidated wooden structure with a gable roof which Eric assumed was the old mill. They waited for a few minutes until both of them heard a sound.

*Ring*

*Ring*

*Ring*

*Ring*

Mr. Saltzman: "Sheriff Donovan, did you find any clues?"

Sheriff Donovan: "Yeah, we found the car belonging to one of the girls,"

Mr. Saltzman: "Are they okay?"

Sheriff Donovan: "They are not inside the vehicle and looks like something or someone tipped it over, but I need you to get here for a professional observation, and I will send you the exact location of the incident, get here as fast as you can,"

Mr. Saltzman: "Ok, I will be there as soon as I deal with a suspect,"

Sheriff Donovan: "A suspect? For this case? Who is that?"

Mr. Saltzman: "Yes. He is someone who is not from around here. I will explain it to you once I get there. I am just waiting for Hope to come to watch him,"

Sheriff Donovan: "Ok, but get here quickly,"

After saying this Sheriff Donovan hung up the phone. Mr. Saltzman wanted to dial another number when Eric heard the faint sound of footsteps.

Just as Mr. Saltzman wanted to press the call button, two people could be seen walking towards them.

Hope and the sullen Lanon came to view. Hope asked Mr. Saltzman "What is so important for you to call us from the mission?" while looking at Eric.

He looked at Landon and shook his head then said "I think he might be responsible for the murder and the disappearance of the two girls. Take him inside the old mill and don't let him take a step outside of the building. I don't have much time. They have found one of the girls' cars, and I am going to get some clue about what has happened exactly, watch him closely until I get back," After saying that he quickly left.

Both Landon and Hope were somewhat shocked when they heard Mr. Saltzman say this.

Hope turned to Eric and said "Why is he saying that? Did you really do this?"

"I may have said something that caused him to become more cautious about me but I just wanted to be honest, which seems like a mistake. Also, why the fuck would I do that? I get that might become suspicious of me but now this is completely overboard," Eric said while sighing.

"Okay, let's go inside. By the way, did you find out what you are exactly?" Landon suddenly asked.

"No, we were going to do just that, and that was the reason he asked you two to come back. But he got a phone call and then you saw the rest," Eric said.

"So you don't know anything about your power?" Landon questioned.

"I know that my senses are stronger, and I have a pretty good healing factor, but that is pretty much it. They are the only thing that I have experienced," Eric explained.

"Oh, cool, but what did you say that made Mr. Saltzman, that much cautious of you?" Landon asked.

"Eh, not gonna make the same mistake. But your principal is kind of a hypocrite not gonna lie. He told me that everyone here is together like, a family and blah blah blah, but without any kind of solid evidence he started to treat me like a murderous monster who will kill anyone and everyone," Eric said.

Landon wanted to say something when Hope interjected "You should cut him some slack. We found out there are more mythical creatures out there, and for some reason, they are targeting our school. Also because we don't know what is the cause of this, everyone who suddenly shows up, when there are monster problems, a murder case, and disappearance of two students kinda make the situation a whole lot more sticky,"

"Yeah but still not the greatest first impression," Eric said.

Hope this time didn't answer and just pointed Eric to enter the old mill and then both her and Landon quickly followed behind.
