I gave him a look. "You're not going to die. I'm not done with you yet."
He chuckled. "Oh, still a threat. Exciting."
"Exciting?" I retorted, dripping with sarcasm. "If being a patient in a hospital is your idea of excitement, how thrilling."
"No, it's exciting to be a patient when you're the nurse," he replied, teasingly.
"With that attitude, you might not recover," I threatened.
"Ouch, that hurts. But it's okay. As long as you're the one taking care of me," he replied, his annoying grin still on his face.
"Behave yourself, Zachary. This isn't the time to joke," I told him as I adjusted the bandage on his arm.
