Chapter 14

Vihaan Kashyap

I helped her sit down and then removed her heels due to which she kept on stumbling. And after we had entered the house that she had said, "Vihaan... I'm cold..." My love has definitely gone insane.

"Just a moment," I said and went into my room and got her a jacket of mine and helped her to wear it.

I sit in front of her and she folds her legs. "Do you know what it feels like to be in heaven?" she asks with her eyes widening and a big smile making its way on her face.

"No," I chuckled.

"Why," she argued.

"Because I haven't been there.." I answered.

"You're so lame," she said. "I'm hungry."

"Now?"

"Mhmm"

I went into the kitchen and she managed to follow. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Watching over you," she said.

I grabbed her hand and made her sit on the dining table. I searched through the multiple cupboards for something to eat. Even I was hungry. A meal would be preferable. She successfully tried to get to the refrigerator and open it. "Wow," she exclaimed. I turned around to see what she was up to. She had a box of ice cream in her hand. "I'm having this!"

"Not at all," I said and snatched it. She tried getting it back but fell on the floor instead.

"I hate you," she mumbled. I can't resist smiling at her. She is such a child.

"I'll give you the ice cream only if you have dinner with me.."

"Now?"

"Yes"

"Okay father," she mumbled. "But only because you're giving me ice cream."

After searching a lot I found a packet of instant noodles. I had to conquer over three attempts of snatching the ice-cream box by Suha. I laughed at her when she yelled at me for having changed the box's place.

"Vihaan, I want that ice-cream," she yelled.

"I'll give you, promise. Just eat the noodles with me, please." Finally, I end up feeding her. Speaking the truth, if I get a chance to feed her every day, I'll take it. I know it was getting harder for me to handle her but still. She was an irresistible stumbling and mumbling kid. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Whatever she is, I want her to be mine. No changes, whatsoever.

She didn't eat much. Just a little. It was fine with me. It was our dinner date. It would have been perfect if she were sober but these imperfections are my favorite.

"Suha," I said, taking a big chance. It would be a trial for me so that I could propose to her in a better way. If her drunk reactions will be bad then I'll think thousands of times before proposing to her when she is sober.

"So.." I started. It's harder than it is in the movies. Who am I kidding? This is reality. And in front of me is my dream girl. Heck, I have to be fucking nervous. "I... I... I.."

"What I?" she snapped at me. "I know," she said, stopping me, "You wanna say that you want to feed me the ice-cream as well!" She pulled my cheek.

I faked a laugh. Saved! "Yes," I lied. "Wait here." I fetched a spoon for her and brought the ice-cream box along. We then went to the hall where she sat in front of me and I fed her. With every spoonful, I could see an expression of satisfaction and a feeling of being overwhelmed on her face. Her happiness makes me happier.

When she was done she stood up, swung herself, and then landed on my lap spreading herself on the couch. I caress her hair. She just keeps on smiling at me. "I love you," I blurted. I don't know from where it came or how it came. I just blurted out those words making myself feel better from the inside.

"You do," she simply asked.

"Yes," I answered.

"That's the best thing I've heard today," she said with a smile on her face. "Well, I love me too!" I rolled my eyes at her and chuckled. She cuddled a bit more on my lap and then closed her eyes.

She looks so pretty and quiet - unlike her - she's not a quiet material - but I can't let her sleep like that cramped in a little space though I like the fact that she's sleeping on my lap. She also seems to be uncomfortable in her dress.

Hence Charlie enters the scene. I called her up. "Listen," I told her. "I need you to get a pair of pajamas and come over to my place."

"Vihaan, it's past four a.m. And I am not playing a slumber party with you. Lemme sleep."

"You owe me too much. Get the pajamas and come at my place fast. The key is under the doormat so open the door yourself. Do not ring the bell. I repeat DO NOT ring the bell," I said emphasizing the Do Not.

"Yes sir!" she said and hung up.

In some time Charlie reaches my place. "Who's that?" she nearly screamed as she flew through the open door.

"Whose that.. Whose," panicked my love as she sat straight. Eyes half-closed.

"No one," I shushed her. "it's still Vihaan here. Sleep. Okay!"

"Okay," she said and dozed off again, this time on my shoulder. I could feel the warmth of her breath against my chest. Wow.

"Is that Suha," Charlie asked.

"Yes," I said.

"You never told me she was psychotic. Like, mentally retarded."

"You got her drunk on your unofficial 3rd date," she judged me by staring me up and down.

"Of course not! She might've gotten mad and drunk the bottle of vodka while waiting for me at the marines," I filled her in.

"Okay... That explains a lot," she said. "So you're not using her?"

"No," I said, giving her a look. If stares could kill then Charlie would have been dropped dead right now.

"Then-" she was about to say something but I made out her intentions and stopped her midway by saying, "Don't even think about it."

"So why am I here at this point in time," she exasperated.

"To change her clothes and help me get her to bed."

"Oh," she smiled.

"Don't act over smart."

"Fine," she said. "let's take her to the bedroom.

"Yeah," I said. It took us a few minutes to get her to my room. She is quite lighter than I thought even when drunk. It took Charlie another few minutes to change her clothes. She backed away when she was done. I tucked her and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Awe," Charlie said.

Shy after my public display of affection I said, "Shut up."

She gave a sigh when we sat on the couch in the living room. I looked at her. I know what's coming up. "Tell me about today. Tonight to be precise."

"It's a long story," I said.

"We have the rest of the morning," she winked.
