Alfred's Clueless Journey

Alfred was a young man who had just been knighted by the king. He was still getting used to his new title and the responsibilities that came with it. One day, his mentor, Lady Eleanor, called him into her chambers.

"Alfred, I have some exciting news to share with you," Lady Eleanor said with a smile. "I am getting married next week in the cathedral, and I would like you to be a part of the wedding party."

Alfred's eyes widened in surprise. "You've been telling for a hundred times about your wedding, Lady Eleanor.

"You can ask me to fight a group of bandits, and I'll fight them immediately," Alfred continued. "But me in the wedding party? I'm not sure whether I'm ready for that."

Lady Eleanor giggled. "Don not worry, Alfred. You'll do just fine. Now, I need your help with the preparations. Can you go into town and gather some supplies for the ceremony?"

Alfred nodded, trying to hide his nervousness. He set off towards Norwich city, determined to do his best to help Lady Eleanor. As he walked through the crowded streets, he couldn't help but feel a little out of his depth. He had never planned a wedding before, and he didn't even know where to start.

He decided to ask for help, and approached a group of women who were chatting and laughing together. "Excuse me, ladies," Alfred said, trying to sound confident. "I'm helping to plan a wedding, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice."

The women turned to look at him, and one of them smiled sympathetically. "Oh, Sir Alfred," she said. "You look so lost. What do you need help with?"

Alfred hesitated, feeling embarrassed. "Well, I don't really know. I was just told to go into town and gather some supplies for the ceremony, but I don't know what to get."

The women nodded understandingly. "Ah, well that's an easy enough task. You'll need flowers for the bouquet and the altar, and some decorations for the venue. And don't forget the cake! You'll also need to hire a musician or a troubadour for the reception."

Alfred listened intently, trying to remember everything they told him. "Thank you so much, ladies," he said gratefully. "You've been a great help."

With their guidance, Alfred set off to gather the supplies he needed. First, he went to a local florist to pick out flowers for the bouquet and the altar. He wasn't sure what kind of flowers Lady Eleanor would like, so he asked the florist for some suggestions.

"Well, it depends on the theme of the wedding," the florist said, eyeing Alfred quizzically. "Do you have something in mind?"

Alfred shook his head, feeling foolish. "I'm sorry, I don't know. Lady Eleanor didn't mention anything about a theme."

The florist chuckled. "Well, in that case, I would recommend something classic and timeless, like roses or peonies. They're always a popular choice for weddings."

Alfred nodded, relieved to have some guidance. He picked out a beautiful bouquet of roses and peonies, and the florist promised to have them delivered to the cathedral in time for the ceremony.

Next, Alfred went to a party supply store to find decorations for the venue. He wasn't sure what Lady Eleanor had in mind, so he asked the store clerk for some ideas.

"Well, it depends on the theme of the wedding," the clerk said, echoing the florist.

Alfred groaned inwardly, feeling like he was stuck in a loop. "I'm sorry, I don't know. Lady Eleanor didn't mention anything about it. I'm still clueless"

The clerk smiled sympathetically. "Don't worry, we have a wide selection of decorations that would work for any wedding. How about some bunting, tapestries, and lanterns in a neutral color like white or silver?"

Alfred nodded, grateful for the suggestion. He picked out some bunting, tapestries, and lanterns mostly in silver, and the clerk promised to have them delivered to the cathedral in time for the ceremony.

Finally, Alfred went to a bakery to order a cake for the reception. He wasn't sure what kind of cake Lady Eleanor would like, so he asked the baker for some suggestions.

"Well, it depends on the theme of the wedding," the baker said with a warm smile.

Alfred sighed, feeling frustrated. "I'm sorry, I don't know anything. Once again, I'm still clueless."

The baker chuckled. "It's okay, don't worry about it. We can make a variety of flavors, so just tell me what your bride-to-be likes. Does she have a favorite flavor?"

Alfred racked his brain, trying to remember if Lady Eleanor had ever mentioned a favorite flavor. "I don't think so," he said, feeling a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I don't really know much about her preferences."

The baker smiled kindly. "Well, in that case, I would recommend a classic flavor like honey or fruit. They're always a safe bet for a wedding cake. And if you're feeling adventurous, we can add some fun fillings like nuts or spices."

Alfred nodded, relieved to have some guidance. He decided on a honey cake with a fruit filling, and the baker promised to have it delivered to the cathedral in time for the reception.

With all of the supplies gathered, Alfred still had one more task to complete - hiring a musician or a troubadour for the reception. He wasn't sure where to find one, so he decided to ask around town. He approached a group of musicians who were playing in the town square.

"Excuse me," Alfred said, interrupting their performance. "I'm looking to hire a musician or a troubadour for a wedding reception. Do you know of anyone who might be available? Maybe your fellow musicians?"

The musicians looked at Alfred and nodded. "As a matter of fact, we are available for hire," one of them said. "We are a traveling band of minstrels, and we specialize in wedding receptions. How about it, young sir? Would you like to hire us for the occasion?"

Alfred's eyes lit up. "Yes, I'd love to hire you! Lady Eleanor will be fascinated."

The musicians chuckled. "Excellent, it's settled then. We'll see you at the cathedral next week."

With all of the supplies gathered, Alfred returned to the cathedral, Norwich Cathedral, feeling proud of himself. Lady Eleanor was pleased with his efforts, hoping that the wedding would also went off without a hitch. Alfred learned a lot about planning a wedding, and was grateful to Lady Eleanor for giving him the opportunity to help out. And as he watched his mentor already had imagination of marrying her beloved, he couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and happiness.
