Last Trip

She dropped by the church first before she went to her workplace at the Central Business District in Makati.

As usual her birthday wishes remains the same. To meet the man of her dreams. She had been wishing for the exact same thing since she turned 22. But years have passed and her Mr. Right has not came along, yet.

"Lord should I give up on love now? When will I meet him? Okay maybe I am asking for too much, I won't ask for the perfect guy now because there is no such. Can you send someone for me who is a God-fearing man who I can share our faith in you together. He must also be a good looking guy, a drop dead gorgeous man. No wait, not so gorgeous is okay, I don't want to be envied by many girls. For as long I can wake up next to him in the morning without getting scared when I looked at his face should be fine. Since he is not that drop dead gorgeous at least he is rich. He must also be a man of sthrenght, that I can rely on when I am weak. Lastly someone who is faithful and will never look for another woman other than me. Okay, Lord that's it! Hear my prayers please" she said feeling hopeful. She already made a bargain, so she felt like it was more likely that her wish will be granted. She left the church with a smile on her lips.

A sound of popping balloons were heard. She was greeted by her officemates singing the Happy Birthday song as she entered the workplace. She could see the beaming face of her officemates while they were clapping their hands as they sung the national birthday anthem. When she looked around, the whole workplace were filled with birthday decors. She was surprised and her feet got stamped on the floor. Lindy who was her best buddy in their department was holding a birthday cake as they approached her. Johnny, who was her best "shemale" friend from the marketing and advertising department was holding a bouquet of flowers for her. She was beyond pleased. It was a tear-jearking moment.

"Thank you guys, I appreciate the efforts, how much contribution did you make to come up with this birthday surprise?" She asked jokingly.

"Fair enough for you to treat us over lunch" Johnny said "Right guys?" he plead their officemates to have his statement be seconded.

"Yes! We deserve a birthday treat!"

"Okay, lunch is on me!" She joyfully obliged.

The whole area were filled with too much happiness that everyone did not notice the presence of the HR director who came together with someone who has a towering figure that just stepped into the room.

"Blow the candle now and make a wish" Lindy told her.

The towering figure looked at Kelly as she leaned closer to the birthday cake and blew the candle.

"Share with us your birthday wish!" Johnny said.

"Someone told me that if it shared it won't come true so NO." She politely refused.

"Let me guess." Johnny told her as he was eagerly wanted to let everyone in the room know what her heart desires.

"Go! If you guess it right I will treat you for lunch the whole week."

"Woah!" Everyone in the room exclaimed and get excited to guess her birthday wish.

"You wanted a car." Someone chanted.

She shook her head.

"You wished for happiness."

"Hmmm my wish if it is granted will result to happiness, so you partially guess it right."

"You wished for good health" someone has said.

Everyone has almost provided their guesses but none of them got it right, until someone who stood near the entrance has voiced out his opinion.

"She wished for Mr. Right." He said in a cold deep voice.

Everyone has looked at the man with unfamiliar voice who stood beside their HR director. They were stunned to see a towering figure like a demigod that was sent from heaven.

"Did I guess it right?" He asked and looked at her straight into her eyes. She wanted to size up with his nerve-breaking stare but she couldn't hold on to it. She lowered her eyes and nodded.

"Okay, you owe me a lunch treat for the entire week." He said then walked out.

All the employees has paid their respect to the HR Director and to the man walking side by side with him as they passed by.

As soon as those two has disappeared from their sight, Johnny shook her both shoulder while she was facing him with too much excitement written all over his face. "OMG, Rakelita Manalo, your surname really fits you. You're a big winner to have a whole week lunch date with our new CEO."

Her eyes were widened in disbelief.

That demi-god looking guy who has just left was the new CEO?

As in OMG. She will be going out for a lunch date with a CEO?

Was he her answered prayer?

She almost fainted.
