Chapter 17
Two days later, he was back in Topeka and the day after that, at work once again. He spent several evenings uploading all of his photos to his computer. He sorted them, reviewed each shot with precise care, and began to set a few aside to send Jon. He even Photoshopped a few of his favorites, blurring out an errant power line or brightening the hue of a sandstorm formation to the exact color he recalled. Then, feeling a bit guilty, he decided to send both the original and the improved version when he emailed the lot to his mentor.
He’d tried hard to move his thoughts of Jon from lover to mentor and put the amazing sex and companionship they’d shared into a closed mental compartment. Meanwhile, he concentrated on the notion of becoming a real photographer himself under Jon’s guidance. That might even provide an excuse to see the big man again.
