Different people ran it now, but that was okay. They ate out on a covered deck overlooking the valley. The coffee was still good and powerful. The food was top drawer, too. After eating, they started at the upper or southwestern end of town, where the highway curved around to head up Mescal Canyon and over Mingus Mountain.

From there they worked their way street by street and scene by scene through all of the picturesque old mining camp. Jon probably took a thousand pictures. Clay didn’t get anywhere near that many, but enough to have some souvenirs of yet another wonderful day. Not only was Jon an incredible lover, he was a funny, cheerful and very congenial companion. They could talk easily, and Clay found the photographer to be a wealth of information about thousands of topics. He could not remember having more fun simply being with someone. It was like all the best friends and good times he’d missed growing up were rolled into one incredible package and handed to him to enjoy.
