We Need To Talk

"So I didn't see that coming Judah but thanks I will defiantly remember you because of that." confessed Marcus with a awkward look on his face that really didn't say much.

"Sorry I just couldn't hold back any longer." confessed Judah as he slowly took Marcus' paw in his before looking him in the eyes and adding, "I've loved you ever since that first time we tumbled into each other and rolled across the floor of your father's forge."

"Judah I'm not really sure how to tell you this but I'm not into other guys. Besides with me leaving there is no way we could have a relationship beyond friends not to mention my special gifts make me an outcast in most villages and cities I could never ask someone to have to live that kind of life." sighed Marcus "We can still be friends thou."

"Oh, so what about Rebekah? Do you like her?" asked Judah half crying.

"Only as a friend though if I had to choose a mate later in life it would be a female not a male. You understand though right?" asked Marcus as he slide closer to Judah and put a comforting arm around him but also trying not to send mixed signals.

"Hay Judah buddy we can always help you find another boy to crush on." replied Rebekah as she sat down on his other side and comfortingly placed an arm around him.

"I never said he couldn't still crush on me just that I don't look at him the same way and would like for us to remain friends." replied Marcus not really helping nor hurting the matter any. "In fact I might have an idea that would make this day rememberable for all of us."

"Really like what?" asked Judah as some of his joy began to return to him.

"I don't know." added Rebekah looking very concerningly at Marcus trying to figure out what he was thinking which was almost impossible.

"Oh come on Rebekah I haven't even told you yet." replied Marcus.

"Yah but after the conversation we just had and the way your Brian works sometimes its too scary to imagine what you've come up with." replied Rebekah.

"Well just calm down and listen to the whole idea before you go off ranting about how stupid, dangerous and silly the idea is." replied Marcus with a grin.

"Will you two not fight and just let Marcus tell me the idea already." pleaded Judah as he found one of his paws had slowly shifted to Marcus' inner thigh.

"Fine." huffed Rebekah as she turned and crossed her arms.

"So first off I have this little fort maybe ten minutes from here in the forest. I could cast a sound barrier so we can be as loud and crazy as possible and maybe play some kind of striping game." replied Marcus softly not wanting to let any of the adults hear. "And maybe if we all feel comfortable with it once we're undressed we could always play with each other."

"Umm I'm not really sure." confessed Rebekah with a very worried look on her face.

"And though I'd like that Marcus if you really don't see a future for us I really don't want to feed my desires for you as more then a friend and your idea would only do that." sighed Judah as he really wanted to undress Marcus and go for it but he knew him being here was already a big enough risk. "Besides I should be heading home soon before my father comes marching over here to get me."

"Judah please don't go yet." replied Marcus holding onto Judah's paw as he stood to leave. "You're my best friend and until Rebekah my only friend. I don't want to say good by but I have no choice I'm not wanted here and someday the gods will bring our paths across each other again. When that happens I want you to know it wont be soon enough."

"Thanks Marcus but I need to go and sorry for kissing you I-" started Judah only to be cut off as Marcus stood and hugged him.

"You couldn't have given me a better gift then your love, and even though I don't love you back in the same way doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the nor want the gift. Thank you Judah." replied Marcus as he hugged him. "I really will miss you so much."

"I'll miss you too Marcus." replied Judah with a smile as they separated.

Judah then nodded a goodbye to Rebekah and Marcus one last time before turning to head home with a tear in his eye at the lost of his best friend and first crush. This was the first point in his life he truly was heartbroken but at least there was still hope for them meeting again some day down the line, but for now he'd have to settle with what could've been.

Now as for Rebekah and Marcus they both returned to inside to the party for one last snack before heading up for bed for in the morning they would begin the three day journey into the city. For now though it was time for them to get some rest. Rebekah was first to clean up and change before falling to sleep while Marcus was still cleaning up and getting dressed for bed.

That night as they slept Marcus was shown a vision of six shadowy figures standing on a hill. Each figure slowly stepped into the light revealing their armor and weapons. One was a shadowy mouse in silver knight's armor and wielding a mighty sword. Next was a Samaria in black armor with twin black katana.

The third was a black squirrel scholar with a familiar grin and sparkle in her eyes. Then there was a sneaky thief with long bow drawn an ready for attack. Then there was a hood figure cloaked in white and gold. Lastly was a warrior of light in golden platemail with an ancient Vulparian sword in one paw and a glowing orb of light in the other. It was then he realized that this was the team he was destined to bring together.
