The clouds sailed by with the breeze, increasing in number as the slight smell of rain traveled to Rakesh’s nostrils. He looked up from his place in the garden, studying the clouds for a moment before grabbing Josie’s herb basket. He surveyed what he had picked, satisfied with his work, before making his way back inside. He was greeted with the welcome aroma of chai being made on the stove and lemon tea cakes in the oven. He put the basket on the table next to Josie’s cauldron and joined her in the kitchen, wrapping his arms around her from behind.
“Tea’s ready.” She said with a smile as she leaned into his embrace. “Tea cakes should be done any minute.”
“It all smells amazing.” Rakesh congratulated her with a kiss on the shoulder. “I have a beautiful woman in my arms who knows how to make chai and tea cakes? You keep spoiling me like this and I’ll be no good to anyone.”
