Starry Night

The group walked along a beach area that had metal fencing keeping people out for a while until they reached and arched gate that had two men guarding it. Megan let go of Gabriel walking up to see the men and handed them a piece of paper. He could overhear one of the men speaking to Megan.

"The owner told us if no one showed this year he wouldn't take the reservation next year. He said it wasn't fair to take the money when no one came." The security guard laughed.

"Stuff always comes up but this year we are here." Megan said sounding embarrassed though Gabriel couldn't understand why.

The two men opened the metal gate and stood aside, and Megan waved the group in ahead of her and Gabriel. Once inside Megan headed in the direction of some beach cabanas. Caden and Elijah peeled off going toward cabanas in the other direction. Angelina stopped alongside Chloe and Megan's siblings about halfway down the beach and Afton stayed with them. Megan and Gabriel kept going until they reached a cabana near the end of the area.

The cabana contained a bed which was the point of this experience since the moon wasn't too bright and they could lay here and look up at the stars. Megan lay down an looked up enjoying that most of the view wasn't covered by the roof. Realizing what Megan was doing, Gabriel lay down beside her and looked up,

The sky was bright with stars. There were so many of them that it seemed almost unnatural to Gabriel. Perhaps there were not as many stars in Tetra, he didn't spend much time thinking about the stars. They were either there where he could see them, or he didn't think about them. Gabriel wondered if it was the same for most people.

Megan had always loved the stars but growing up in the city she never saw them. Only on trips to Plymouth had Megan realized that they were there and too massive a number to count. In school she had always paid attention to when a subject included the stars, which wasn't very often.

"What was that about you missing appointments?" Gabriel asked Megan.

Megan sighed heavily, she had hoped no one had caught that. "I have reserved this place for this night every year for the last four years hoping I would have someone to watch the stars with. I expected to give it out as a wedding gift for Caden and Elijah to use after my father forced me to marry Caden."

"So tonight, you finally have someone to share this with. Does that make you happy Megan?" Gabriel asked, leaning up to look down at Megan instead of at the stars.

Megan glanced away from the view to see Gabriel looking down at her. "Yes, it makes me happy, but the stars are the other way." Megan smirked

Gabriel brushed the hair away from Megan's face, cupped her jawline and ran his thumb along her cheekbone several times before winding his fingers into her hair at the back of her neck. He pulled her head up a couple inches until their lips met. Megan's lip's part and he deepened the kiss caressing her tongue with his own.

Megan moaned at the intense heat that ran through her body as they continued to kiss. She wanted him so badly. She was thankful that Gabriel had helped her ease the ache that came from being with him like this, but it was once again getting bad. Soon he would need to help her again or maybe this time they could make love and they could both find relief.

Gabriel gasped moving back from her mouth. Megan used the opportunity to rain kisses on his throat and collarbones. She could feel the rumbling growl coming from him a moment later as her tongue flicked across his earlobe. Megan sucked on the space behind his ear at his hairline and then suddenly Gabriel was gone.

Megan sat up spotting him down by the surf and plopped back to stare at the stars. Megan had been trying to be understanding but this was getting ridiculous. Every time they would start getting somewhere Gabriel would take off. If he was going to do this, it would be better if he would just keep his distance from her altogether. Megan would miss his touch, but she wouldn't miss this.

A few minutes later Gabriel came walking back up to the cabana. He laid down beside Megan and looked up at the stars like nothing had even happened.

After a minute Gabriel turned to her. "I'm sorry about what happened there Megan

Megan nodded but realized she had something to say. "I don't want you to touch me anymore Gabriel, not at all. I don't like that you start things only to abandon me and that you think I am just waiting around for you to do this to me over and over again."

Gabriel stared at Megan. "No, I do not accept that. I understand that you are upset that this keeps happening. I am upset about it as well. The answer is not to just avoid each other. That will only make the situation worse. We are married. This won't be ending at the thirty-day mark Megan. We're meant to be together. The problems we are having will be overcome not ignored. Do you understand, wife?"

Megan nodded but didn't look happy. Gabriel leaned over, giving her a soft tender kiss. She wasn't responsive but didn't pull away. Gabriel decided to call that a win for now. This was his fault for letting things get out of hand in the cabana. It was either take her here or walk away right then. He wanted her first time to be something more than a quickie on the beach. Plus, if he lost control and claimed her, they needed to be somewhere contained that he could control and had back up that wouldn't be trying to protect the humans and could help him.

A while later they decided it was time to go since Megan was getting sleepy. They gathered up the rest of the group, Caden and Elijah were already back by then. The group walked along back to the private car park and hugs went round. Megan hugged everyone before people climbed in their vehicles and went back to their estates.

"Did you have fun tonight?" Afton asked a sleepy Megan in the car on the way home.

"Yes, I had a lot of fun tonight." Megan yawned from where she leaned up against Gabriel.

"I can see why you spend time with all those people. What a fun crowd." Gabriel said with a chuckle.

"Me too…" Afton agreed with a yawn of his own.
