Pretend

Megan was curled up next to Gabriel trying to pretend to still be asleep. She didn't want to face a world where she knew she was still in love with her husband. She didn't want to face Sam. What could she possibly say to him? What a mess!

"I know you're awake, love." Gabriel purred as his fingers traced her bare spine.

Megan groaned, "just let me pretend."

"Why are we pretending to be asleep?" Gabriel slid down so they were face to face.

"I don't want to face the day." She mumbled as she cracked her eyes open to see him.

Gabriel sighed, "I don't really want to face it either and yet we must. There are important things to do today."

"Like what?" Megan asked resting her cheek on her hand.
