Lion's Den

The De Saude symbol was a lion. A proud beautiful lion behind it was the Imperial Sun. The symbol of the Vastillo family. It was a sign that the De Saude family was backed by Royalty. A single sign of devoted loyalty. It was a shame that Lumielle would have to behead the lion that had tried to slaughter the lamb.

Golden oculars looked at the book that she was reading. The Sekrina root had been the one that had been slipped inside of her father's goblet. The tasteless odorless plant could be considered poison if given in a large enough dose. Yet, that dosage would have to be given for a long period of time.

It would take days for someone to die and due to the adverse impacts after first drinking it. The poison was rather useless.

Then, why did someone try and poison the Emperor with such an ineffective method? Lumielle couldn't help but wonder as to why Magnus was killed. Executed cruelly even though he had shown nothing but pure faith in the Emperor.
