As he ran toward Sharon, the ghoul knight, and the necromancer, Ahli checked on the new card that arrived in his hand. It was Dragon's Breath. In that situation, it was perfect, as he do not need to use Impetus anymore to control the ghoul knight, as Dragon's Breath could destroy it immediately. Besides, the problem with Impetus was that it has a time limit of at least one minute after the spell was activated. If the necromancer has another trick up his sleeve, the ghoul knight might fail in killing the necromancer immediately.

"QUANTOS ABIRAM! NOGE LEPROS!"
Another yell was shouted by the necromancer, and Ahli saw purple light glowing on his hands which were held up high. He saw the position of the necromancer to be facing him and not Sharon, which meant the spell was aimed at him. He must have noticed Ahli's coming and prevented him from getting closer.
Ahli look at his left and right as he continued his run to check whether any ghouls or skeletons coming at him. However, aside from the ghoul knight, he found no more of them. He was still questioning what was the necromancer's plan when suddenly he got tripped. Yet, it happened not because of anything slipping him, but because something held him in the leg. He looked at his feet and saw skeleton hands holding his feet, with each foot being held by two hands. He tried to pull his leg free, but, the hold was strong enough. In turn, however, the skeletons slowly broke the ground and started to reveal themselves. Their mouth did a biting movement that kept on repeating. It was that movement that seemed to help them dig through the soil and lead them to the ground, as Ahli saw some of the soil that remained at their jaw.
As their upper body had appeared fully, Ahli quickly noticed the skeletons were aiming to bite his feet off. Their biting movement did not stop even after successfully helping them dig their way out. The one holding his left foot raised its upper body which then followed with a sharp dive toward Ahli's left foot.
Seeing that, Ahli reflexly, moved his right leg and forcefully try to shake it off the grip of the skeleton that was holding it. He was unable to lose the grip, yet, he was able to make it move freely. He then quickly aimed his right foot at the skeleton which dived, and the kick landed on time as it was a few inches left till it bit Ahli's left leg.
The kick however came with a cost. With its strong power, it was able to pull the skeleton that was holding Ahli's right leg from the ground fully. With it becoming free, it let go of its grip on Ahli's right leg and started to come at him, trying to pin Ahli down to the ground. From that position, it seemed it would start to bite his flesh off.
Ahli was too late to move his right leg underneath the skeleton, so it act as a border to keep his distance from the skeleton. It came at him as quickly as possible, and in a quick moment, Ahli spontaneously yelled.
"FLOAT MODE!"
The cards in his hand quickly transformed into their giant holographic version and as they float in front of him, they knocked down the skeleton above Ahli to the side. However, the one that was still holding his left leg was unaffected by the float mode, as the cards were in an arch position ranging from Ahli's left to his right.
Ahli raised his body to a sitting position, and with one foot free, he had more power to pull himself away. Alas, no matter how strong he tried to pull, this one surely was not giving up on him. It clenched to him tightly, like very annoying acne. And so, as Ahli lost his patience, he yelled.
"Produce 2 mana from Jena's Pendant. Add with one fire mana. Activate Impetus targeting the skeleton in front of me."
One of the red shards crumbled and transformed into red light as it join the two white lights from Jena's pendant. They flew straight toward Impetus' giant illusion that was floating in the middle of the three cards left in his hand. As it touched the illusion, the illusion glowed red before it shrank and became a piercing beam, blasting quickly toward the skeleton that was still holding Ahli's left leg. As it disappeared inside its head, a red glow started to emit throughout its body.
Ahli felt the spell had worked as he felt more power was put on the grip that was holding his foot. It was a little painful, but he was lucky it was not affecting his already low life points. The spell effect had fully been realized when the skeleton let go of its holding, as one of its abilities was to make the targeted unit not attack Ahli.
"Good. Now attack your friend there."
With Ahli's direction, the skeleton started to turn to face the other skeleton. It started to move toward it, and Ahli saw that as a chance to escape.
<TURN 14>
Ahli did not know what happened next with those two, as helping Sharon was his concern at that moment. He retracted the floating illusion cards back into his hand as it was easier for him to navigate the battle. What he found after that then was quite surprising then. The moment he was occupied with the two skeletons, more skeletons seemed to have joined the battle between the ghoul knight and Sharon. The proof was the remains of several skeletons that were scattered surrounding both of them.
He surely did not know how many skeletons had she fought, however there were two that still remained, and Sharon was able to hold them easily, even though it could be seen that these two were more skillful that the rest of the bunch.
The one on her left was striking her with a piercing attack which she easily parried and with a few twists of her swords, she was able to make the skeleton drop its weapon and landed a diagonal blow to its body, crumbling most of its middle body.
Without resting, she quickly rolled forward, in time before the big sword of the ghoul knight slammed to the ground where she used to stand. For Ahli who saw it, she seemed aware of how the power of the ghoul knight might end her life immediately, which is why her next action after the strike from the ghoul knight was to keep her distance from it.
"DARUGA HAERO WOLNU!"
With that one yell chant, the skeleton bones surrounding her started to gather again. It formed a hulking humanoid monster that was composed of bones, which Ahli checked had the stats of 5/4, stronger than the ghoul knight. Ahli racked his brain again as this meant the plan had changed again. He looked at Dragon's Breath and thought to himself to which of the deadly monster he needed to cast it into. Because the problem was even though he was able to kill one, Sharon would not be able to defeat the other one because, in Ahli's prediction, Sharon's basic stats should be a 2/2, even though it was not shown. Currently, it was buffed up by Might of the Forest, making it a 3/3, but it is still not enough to kill the other monster as they had 4/4 stats.
[Wait a minute, she was buffed up?"]
Ahli quickly checked his cards again and saw Vine Bind, and he thought to himself.
[This could work.]
VINE BIND
1+Wood Mana

Use on target unit.
Enchanted unit unable to move.

Ahli scouted the battlefield and tried to decide the potential target for Vine Bind. As he did that, somehow he locked his eyes with the necromancer who seemed just realized that Ahli was able to defeat the two skeletons that he sent to him. Then, like two cowboys who caught each other in surprise, it turned into a quick draw battle.
Ahli quickly pulled Vine Bind from his hand as he gave his command.
"Pay one fire mana and one wood mana to activate Vine Bind, targeting the necromancer!"
With the card thrown at the necromancer and red and green light enveloping it, Ahli saw how his enemy started to raise his hand toward him, and with a loud voice, he cast his spell.
"POTULA SERGO NAVIN!"
Even though he was able to fully cast it, his hands were quickly pulled toward the ground as it released a purple fireball which hit the ground near him. Vines from the ground had reached his body and wrapped him tightly. It bound his arms and legs, making him unable to do big movements anymore.
With another wood spell in effect, Ahli knew for sure that the bonus Might of the Forest gave would be increasing as well. Quickly he ran toward Sharon and her two enemies.
"SHARON! You'll be able to overcome the ghoul knight now!"
"REALLY? HOW ABOUT THIS BONE MONSTROSITY!?"
"I'LL HANDLE IT!"
"OKAY, LET'S FINISH THIS!"
With her confirmation, she dodged the one regular skeleton which was not defeated earlier. In a spinning move, followed by twisting her sword, she landed her strike on it, destroying it. Sharon then quickly kept her distance from the two giant enemies. She positioned her sword on her left side.
"I'M READY!"
With the call from Sharon, Ahli took Dragon's Breath from his hand as he gave his command.
"Pay by two fire mana and one wood mana. Activate Dragon's Breath targeting the bone monster!"
After he finished giving his command, Sharon gave her own command.
"SWORD ART! NINTH DRAGON OF THE HEAVEN!"
With her body glowed, she jumped high to the sky, higher than usual. At the same time, the giant fiery dragon head of Dragon's Breath started to rise from the ground. As it opened its mouth to release the blast, Sharon started to drop her attack on the ghoul knight. Then, at the same time, the dragon head released a blast of fire, with Sharon's made a clean slice on the ghoul knight.
As the bone monster started to melt because of the heat of the flame, the ghoul knight's body started to fall with one side falling to the front and the other to the back. The two threats were able to be subdued in the end.
<TURN 15>
Ahli ran toward Sharon who seemed to be really exhausted.
"You okay?"
"Tired. Really Tired."
Ahli caught her whose body was dropping to the front.
CLAK CLAK CLAK
Their peaceful moment was cut short though when Ahli heard a somehow familiar sound. He looked in the direction where the sound came and saw a familiar skeleton walking at them with his jaw moving unstoppably.
"Last part. We need to finish this for sure."
Hearing Ahli's words, Sharon pushed herself away from Ahli.
"Are you sure you can do it?"
"I still can do a final blow."
Sharon walked toward the necromancer that was still bound by the vines. Seeing Sharon walking toward him, the necromancer became panicked. He started to blurt out many spells, and somehow it took effect, as the grounds surrounding them started to crack again like when the skeletons and the ghoul rose. Yet, it was ended immediately as Sharon's blade pierced his mouth.
"I believe it's enough talk for you."
Sharon spun and the blade followed, slicing the necromancer's head in two. With that, the ground crack stopped and what Ahli saw after was the ghoul and skeleton that remained started to drop to the ground, back to their lifeless state.
As the battle ended, it was marked by the rise of the sun. Their long night finally had ended.
Hopefully the climax of the long night battle satisfy you. Next chapter would be a surprise reveal.
