Chapter 171: The Day Of Execution

He took the silver and white wind flower gauze presented by the servant, wrapped it around his neck, and then walked out of the mansion towards the hill of Sōkyoku.

On the mound directly in front of the Palace of Repentance, stood a huge spear and a huge wooden frame. That is the instrument of death used to execute the notorious felons of Seireitei, the Sōkyoku.

In the past, the Sōkyoku was rarely used to execute any criminal, so the place was usually deserted.

But that day, because it was the day of Rukia's execution, it was extraordinarily lively there.
