After arriving here, Lin Wu first checked the vicinity.
Indeed, as Bai Jing had said, there were no traces of anyone else having been around the riverbank, not even a footprint. The grass showed no signs of being trampled by others, with only her own tracks from walking back and forth.
Lin Wu headed back, following the direction Bai Jing had described, in search of the marsh the other mentioned.
On her way, she even found traces of someone having passed through, chopping down dead branches and leaves, as well as signs of searching. Before long, she indeed saw the marsh. There was an inconspicuous depression by its side, proving that someone had really dug up a lot of wet mud and smeared it over their body.
These were sufficient to prove that everything Bai Jing had said was true; the archaeological team had truly disappeared into thin air overnight.
Lin Wu frowned slightly and turned back to the riverbank.
