Part Eleven

Everything and everyday went well when the two lovebirds were together. They always met up whenever they were free.

After lessons, they would eat together and if there was no lessons the next day, they would hang out together. During the weekend, they would watch movies, wander around the streets and go to each other's house when no one else was at home.

Days passed and they were having lesson now. They sat together along with Ian and Brian. Although Ian was Nathan's best friend, he still did not know Nathan's relationship with Joseph.

"Now, I would show you a video. Please pay attention to the details." Professor Mr. Jones said as he played the video on the big projector screen.

"Ey, Nathan, I forgot to tell you that I can't have lunch with you today. I have a family gathering later." Joseph told Nathan in the middle of the video.

"Oh, okay." Nathan replied softly with crinkles by his eyes.

Then, the two boys went back to watching the video.

After a while, the lesson ended. All students started to pack their stuff and left the classroom. Joseph already packed his stuff while the three boys were still putting their books and stationery in their bags.

"I need to go now. See you all tomorrow!" Joseph waved at the boys as he carried his backpack on one shoulder.

"Bye Joseph!" they waved back and said their "goodbyes".

"So are you coming with us instead? Me and Brian are going to play PS4 together after lunch. Wanna come?" Ian asked Nathan.

"Maybe next time? I'm not feeling well today." Nathan replied. He made up an excuse as he did not have the mood to play or have lunch with them.

"Take care dude. We have to go now. Bye!" Ian said as he left the classroom with Brian. After packing up his stuff slowly, Nathan left the history faculty building by himself. While he was on his way to leave the university, a voice called his name.

"Nathan? Is that you?"

Nathan looked up from his phone and saw a girl next to him.

"Allison? Why are you here?" Nathan was surprised.

"I study at the Faculty of Arts here. How about you?" Allison asked.

"I study History."

"Are you leaving?"

"Yes."

"Me too. Umm... Do you want to grab lunch together?"

"Ummm..."

"I'll take that as a yes then!"

"Okay..." Although Nathan did not really want to have lunch with her, he did not want to repulse her kindness.

Nathan and Allison left the university together and went to a mall nearby to eat at the food court. They sat at a table opposite each other.

"I don't even know there's a food court in this mall." Nathan said.

"Now you know." Allison replied with a smile.

They both giggled afterwards.

"So... what do you want to eat?" Allison continued.

"I think I'll have the chicken fried rice. You?"

"I'll have the salmon caesar salad. Do you want to order first or...?"

"I'll order it for you."

"Thanks!"

"No problem." Nathan said as he stood up and went to order the food for both of them. Not long after, they both got their own meal.

"Thanks Nathan." Allison said as Nathan put the tray with salmon caeser salad down on her side of the table.

"No problem." Nathan answered as he sat down.

"You haven't changed. You still pick out the sweet pepper." Allison said.

"Yeah... I still hate sweet pepper." Nathan said as he carefully use the spoon to scoop out the sweet pepper from his rice.

"By the way, why are you here? Didn't you move away?" Nathan asked.

"I did move away to finish my high school but I came back to study in the university." Allison replied.

"Where do you live now?"

"Student accommodation."

"Oh, okay. Will you go back later?"

"Maybe, I'm not sure because I..."

Their conversations went on as they both were enjoying their food. They talked about their own life, their own experience and their own story. Although they had not seen each other for years, they could still talk without being awkward.

Soon after finishing their lunch, they left the food court. They kept their conversations going as they left.

"I guess you are going that way. Am I right?" Allison said when they reached the mall exit.

"Yes. You're right. I guess we need to say goodbye then."

"Um... before you go, I want to ask... Did you change your phone number?"

"No. It's still the same."

"Okay. See you next time then." Allison said before she walked her way to the dormitory.

"Bye." Nathan waved his goodbye and headed home.

After arriving home, Nathan sat on the couch. Then, his phone vibrated so he decided to check it out. He got a text message from Allison.

Allison : Hi. Are you Nathan?

Nathan replied to her.

Nathan : Yes. Hi.

Allison saw his message and responded at once.

Allison : You really didn't change your phone number.

Nathan did not have things to do so he decided to chat with her.

Nathan : Yeah.

Allison : Do you have anything to do now? Am I disturbing you?

Nathan : No. I have nothing to do right now.

Allison : Okay. Do you have lesson tomorrow?

Nathan : Yes.

Allison : Same! Maybe we can eat together again?

Joseph came to Nathan's mind immediately so he decided to her invite.

Nathan : Umm... Maybe next time? I have things to do tomorrow.

Allison : Okay! My roommate is calling me. Got to go now. Bye!

Nathan : Bye!

Nathan put his phone down afterwards. He decided to turn on the TV to watch TV news. Meanwhile, Allison was sitting on her bed, pouting. She sighed as she put her phone down.

"What's wrong Allie?" her roommate, Kira noticed Allison curling her lips.

"I met my ex boyfriend."

"Really?!" Kira gasped.

"Yeah."

"What happened?"

"Actually, we just had lunch together" Allison continued, "and I texted him if he wanted to have lunch with me tomorrow, he said no."

"Sounds like you really like him. How did you guys break up?" Kira asked.

"We broke up because I didn't want to maintain a long distance relationship."

"You want to get back with him now?"

Allison nodded her head.

"I support you girl." Kira said as she sat down next to Allison and wrapped her arms around her shoulders.

"Thanks." Allison replied with a smile.

"But first, we need to make sure he doesn't have a girlfriend." Kira said.
