“Why didn’t you tell me that your uncle and patron was Vincent St. James?” Tessa gushed as we met up at the entrance of the mall to look for a dress for this dinner.
“I didn't have any idea what that meant before yesterday,” I admitted to her.
“Wow, you must know now that he is like royalty…”
“Yeah, now I know that.”
“This is just too much. I knew there was a lot more to you than meets the eye.”
She hooked her elbow in mine and once again, I felt all eyes on us as we walked through the mall.
“Since you are coming to Shelton Estates for our annual patron’s dinner and reuniting with Cole, I will make sure you look like the fairest of princesses in all the world.”
“That is sweet,” I said. “But, I don’t think Cole has those types of feelings for me.”
She looked at me as if I were crazy. “You have no idea how moody he has been since you had to leave.”
“You’re right. It’s not like he’s called or anything so that I would know,” I retorted sarcastically.
