Chapter 10: thought it was over?

Two weeks went by ,but still there was no improvement in Emily's condition.Mr Chad had hired the best medical team although her physical condition improved and her wounds had gradually healed,her mental state was still in shambles and the therapists tried to get her to talk to no avail.

The senator pressured the police to quickly find her daughters assailants but all the found was the remains of the body burnt car where all the traces led to and ended.

An unbothered young man was sitting in a cafe sipping some coffee.In his hands was a copy of the daily paper and as he read it he just scoffed as he laughed at the authorities attempt of lying to the citizens.Cliff the person in question and the cause of all the recent uproar sat sneering as the authorities claimed to have already caught the people involved in the kidnapping to appease the mass.

He took out a phone on send a single message.' It's time.'After finishing up her continued with enjoying his tea as he waited for the bomb to explode.

Two days later...

Seated in class Cliff furrowed his eye brows trying to ignore all the sorrounding chatter ,the hottest topic been the released clips of Emily been violated by the six men . Although the men's faces were blurred out all othee actions were clear and the clips had been spread to all of social media . Although it was later banned some people had already save the clips and they would still continue to spread .

In the governors household an angry roar could be heard Mr Chad angrily overturned the furniture in his office shouting at the officers for not finding the culprits.Everyone in the place was quiet as they watched him understanding his pain as a father watching his daughter been violated and disrespected .

In their bedroom his wife was also the same crying non stop cursing everyone and the maids as they tried their best to calm her down.

Everyone in the house hold was shocked as they had not expected the outcome and the courage of the perpetrators as the person in question was the senators daughter.

The senator made countless calls to his associates and partners offering rewards to for them to help him unearth the person behind the actions.

He had many enemies from political rivals to other business rivals from both his legal and illegal dealings which made it harder to find the culprit.

In a the bookstore Cliff went on with his work but Ella the little lady could not stop talking endlessly as she said how she was scared and angry at men .She was also annoyed that from since the tapes were released her parents would not let her outside the house.

Cliff who also showed her support for her parents words made her leave annoyed that no one understood her.

The whole Chad family was in distress as all the relatives tried helping to no avail . As Cliff saw news of the arrival of the fist born son back to the country a weird light flashed in his eyes and he looked angry.

He was not afraid of the cops finding out anything despite their search . After he was done with his coffee,he tipped and quietly left the small cafe .

In the governor's household the heavy mood which had impregnated the place for some time suddenly became a bit milder. Mr Chad's eldest son , Kennedy who had been abroad to work had come back home.The parents were happy to see their beloved son back home safe and after such a long time smiles could be seen on their faces.

The tall dark guy with a well trimmed haircut and beard ,who also exuded an air of arrogance immediately showed his ugly side by rudely ordering the maids to carry his belongings to his room and others to make his coffee.

"Well how come no one came to pick me from the airport?You know I had to take a dirty taxi home?"said Kennedy immediately after sitting down.

Everyone in the house had a funny expression on their faces as they stared at the young man who seemed oblivious of the mood and still arrogant as ever.

"You didn't think I asked you to come back to the country for a holiday did you?I don't know what I did to get a son like you ?Maybe even the gods are punishing me for all your past mistakes,"shot back Mr Chad clearly annoyed and angry at his careless and selfish son whom he had sent abroad for reasons.

"Hey calm down honey , he's still our son and now more than ever we need to be united as a family,"his wife immediately diffused the situation.After sending everyone off the only two people remaining in the room were the parents and their son .

With a heavy heart the wife immediately explained what had happened and how it had affected his fathers businesses and career hence they had to bring him back to ensure his safety.

Kennedy immediately threw a fit on hearing about what had happened to his sister "what are the police doing?why aren't the criminals behind this in jail ?We have money we have power ,Why hasn't no one done anything?"He shouted, showing his love for hi little sister despite his usual selfish ways .

The father who was clearly annoyed immediately left the room leaving hos wife behind who had a hard time explaining that they had done everything and used all their connections to no avail as the criminals had only used the dark web to sell the crazy tapes and hid their tracks too well to be caught.Their father had tried his best but could not really get justice hence his vile mood on hearing his runt.

Later during the day Kennedy went to see his sister who lay in bed emotionless ,her eyes empty and didn't even speak.After trying to get a reaction from her to no avail,he immediately left fuming .
