It's That Ad Again! Or Is It?

Jason dimmed the living room lights as a habit. He noticed it was easier for Selina to rest well when they cuddled on the couch while watching television compared to the bedroom. Naturally, he would choose the most comfortable routine for her and the little one.

As always, both had taken turns using the remote control, trying to find an excellent movie to watch before sleeping. However, either the movies did not look attractive, had low ratings, or was not a genre they wanted to watch to end the night.

"Ah, this platform doesn't have anything. We've gone through the genres. I can't watch this and can't watch that." Selina missed the old days when she could choose whatever genre and let explosive bloody gore scenes crawl from the screen. She might jump from the jump scares, but she wasn't afraid. She could even shamelessly hop on Jason's lap if she wanted to. However, over time, everything just didn't seem to catch her interest.

Her preferred genres failed to reach her standard in terms of gore. In addition, she is currently pregnant and was told by her parents not to watch anything exciting.

"Then what about this platform? There are dramas with subtitles. Those are longer but probably more interesting than movies. It will probably be more fun laughing at the silly jokes." Jason ran his palm from her shoulder to elbow, stroking her arm slowly.

"Maybe." She muttered while biting on her straw. The smoothie was long gone before they even chose the entertainment for the night.

"What about this one?" Jason clicked on one of the current popular dramas and played it without reading the summary of it. His finger moved swiftly. Before he knew it, the playlist began to play, and an advertisement popped up.

A vibrant opening flashed, followed by many rays. The scene in front of the couple was one too familiar. They hinted with a massive smile as if it was like that time on the couch.....

As the ad reached its climax, a high-pitched voice imitating Sailor Moon popped out and promoted the product in her hands. She chewed on the product and blew a few bubbles, which caught Selina off guard.

"Aha...Ahahahahahahahaha!!" Selina placed the tumbler on the table and rubbed her stomach as she laughed. Tears formed at the corner of her eyes as the advertisement continued to play. It was an extended version, and the character introduced more of the product.

"What's so funny?" Jason wrapped his arms around her while stroking her back to soothe her laughter. While laughter was great, he wanted to calm her down if her movements became too rough.

"Remember our supermarket crisis? The cashier lady cheered us on after we bought a pack of Sailor Moon condoms?" Selina shut her eyes and rubbed the corner of her eyelashes to remove the tear residue.

"Ahem...Wifey, it was you who chose that pack of condoms." He kindly reminded her of her choice out of the numerous other packs of snacks she could've chosen.

"I chose it, but who bought it?" Selina hooked his chin with a wide grin on her face, provocatively itching his jawline. She even pinched his left cheek to see where his cheekiness was coming from.

Taking her hand in his, he answered, "Me. Fine, we both bought the pack of condoms. But I must say, my wife is quite something to choose the best option of all." He could see the embarrassment on her face the second she chewed the condom package and realized what it was. It was one of the best moments he had ever had in his life.

"Hahahhaha! That's the funny part that I am laughing about! The whole point of the advertisement is to sell condoms for protection. We bought condoms, but we never needed them. And they are advertising more condoms right now, and I'm already pregnant. I guess we never need condoms after all. It'll always be in my hilarious experience of buying condoms while thinking it is gum. But look! Sailor Moon is blowing bubbles with the condom!" Selina had long tossed any shame she was born with aside after meeting Jason and becoming his wife.

She didn't forget to point at the advertisement that hadn't yet ended. Jason was the one who laughed out loud this time. He whispered, "Wifey, look carefully."

"What? What did I miss? Is it their baby crawling in the background? That's a bad advertisement for condoms." As if she had x-ray eyes, she started scanning from one corner to the next as the advertisement continued.

"Sailor Moon is chewing on the product and blowing bubbles. That is gum. It's not condoms. Hahahahhahahha! My dear wife, this company heard your feedback!" Jason gave her a long peck on the cheek while she was stunned. She pointed at the television screen and looked at her husband, who was busy cracking up from her mistake.

"Pfffft! Hahahahhahaha! I guess Sailor Moon didn't save me when she saved the Earth! My brain cells never functioned properly with their products! I can never win. Might as well be team enemy at this point!" Influenced by her husband's weird laugh, Selina also followed after him. The sweet couple took their precious time as they laughed and held their stomach on the couch.

It took a while for them to both calm down. Whenever they tried to stop laughing, the other would laugh even louder. Back and forth, they triggered one another's laughter throughout the night - a perfect evening in the Hui Residence.
