Chapter 97 Mikael’s target.

When Steuner was dealing with the Chixari,Mikael had another target.

He was going to exterminate an aquatic species known as Zuniri who were also a part of the alliance and took part in the attempt to exterminate the humans.

The task was somewhat difficult as their main settlements were deep under the surface and this prevented the standard munitions and energy weapons from reaching them.

Mikael's style of commanding a battle was different from Steuner as he preferred to send in his stealth troops into the enemy bases and space stations first to plant explosives and even nuclear warheads to cripple the enemies command and control centers.

The Zuniri spent most of their time under water but it was impossible for them to build spaceships filled with it so they had to use the same atmosphere as the majority of the galaxy.

They simply wore protective suits when they were out of the water.

The human soldiers and stealth drones operated by A.I simply got inside their targets,set the explosives in hidden locations and left without leaving even a trace of their presence.

The whole operation took two days to complete but it was a great success.

The next step was to position the fleet in such a manner that the debris of the destroyed stations and bases wouldn't hit them.

Not that they would damage them as their shields would absorb the blows but Mikael liked it when he could avoid any damage even to the shields of his ships.

-Admiral we are ready to begin the final stage of the operation.

His Tactical officer reported..

-Then let's begin,silence them.

Mikael orders and a moment later all of the communication relays within this system and all neighboring systems blew up almost simultaneously.

It was crucial for this plan that they destroyed the communications abilities of the enemy.

-All relays have been destroyed.

The officer said with a grimm smile.

-Now no one will hear them scream.

He added.

-Very good, now let's teach these bastards why it was a bad idea to attack humanity.

Mikael said.

-Yes sir!

The bridge crew shouted as one.

-Let's start the fireworks.

Mikael said and the next moment the Zuniri started dying by the thousands as one by one their space stations exploded and turned into a pile of radioactive metal.

Their shipyards also turned into bright balls of light when the planted nukes went off.

The nuclear arsenal was almost useless for the space combat as it needed an atmosphere

to truly unleash its destructive power,

It however was a great thing to plant in an enemy installation as it would rip the target to pieces from inside.

One by one the installations in the system turned into scrap or even a new crater in case of the bases that were built on the three moons of the Zuniri home world.

Every member of the crew watched the show with a grim satisfaction.

Mikael waited with the orders to open fire for the hidden defense systems to activate and he was sure that this level of destruction would bring them out.

He wasn't wrong as many hidden and undetected turrets and satellites that posed as space junk activated within five minutes of the first strike.

They were immediately identified and targeted by the Confederation fleet.

-All ships open fire, let's make the way for the big boys to arrive.

Mikael said through the comms.

At the same time his fleet dropped the cloaking and opened fire to every target in range.

Their first priority was the enemy fleet that just mobilized but it didn't even have the time to fire before the human fleet ripped them to shreds with their energy and kinetic weapons.

It took only twenty minutes for the humans and their allies to wipe out what was left of the enemy defense fleet and their static defenses.

Then it took another seven hours to be sure that they killed all of the enemies in space.

Now came the last part of the plan, the elimination of the Zuniri that were still hidden on the planet surface or rather under the surface.

This part of the plan was the most difficult to plan out,as an aquatic species the Zuniri would have the advantage if he decided to land his soldiers and fight them in the water then they would suffer great losses and the orbital bombardment even using nuclear weapons wouldn't destroy them.

Mikael needed something that could reach his enemies and wipe them out.

The answer came when he was taking a walk with his wife on Eden and saw a bunch of children throwing rocks into a lake.

-Bring in the big boys.

He ordered and a few minutes later over a dozen battleships jumped into the system towing an asteroid behind them.

a moment later a second group emerged then the third and the fourth and so on.

Soon there were a dozen asteroids being towed towards the planet.

Each of the giant space rocks had over sixty kilometers in diameter and even one of them could cause a catastrophe but Mikael decided that it was better to be sure and went for the overkill.

He decided to drop all dozen of the rocks into the planet at once and targeted the most populated areas including the north and the south pole.

The moment the asteroids were exactly on the right trajectory the ships deactivated their tractor beams and moved out of the way.

It still took more than twenty hours for the asteroids to reach their targets but the moment they hit the surface of the planet it was obvious that the Zuniri were wiped out and their world would become uninhabitable for many centuries.

No one in the fleet felt sorry for what they just did,it was exactly the opposite.

Everyone was happy that they managed to destroy one of their enemies and they all knew that if their enemies were the ones attacking their worlds then they would show no mercy to even one human,lizardman or A.I.

And since they were the ones to start this war of extinction then the confederation forces would make sure to exterminate all threats that were putting their species in danger.

-Great job everyone,this operation went exactly according to plan.

Now let's move on to eradicating their colonies and then we will go to our next target.

Mikael said with a proud look on his face.

His fleet managed to take down an enemy homeworld without alerting anyone and if the rest of the fleets worked as efficiently then they would wipe out the members of the alliance before they even knew what hit them.

For now he was more worried about Simon than himself as his friend's second target was the Elani empire and they all knew that it wouldn't be easy for him to destroy the species of a woman he once loved.
