Chapter 77 Exiles.

The wait seemed to last an eternity but it was nearing its end as the speaker announced the beginning of the activation procedure for the reactor number one.

A few moments later they saw a rapid spike in the shipyard's power distribution that reached over 25% and the voice from the speakers announced the reactivation as successful.

For the next hour they witnessed the power readings jumping up to 100% and the repairs speed went up as well cutting the repair time from weeks to mere hours.

According to the displayed data this place would be back to its original state within twelve hours.

The Humans had a hard time believing that especially after seeing the damage that this place took.

That however did not change the facts as the soldiers stationed in various places reported the status of the repairs.

All the holes were getting closed up at an astonishing rate, the sections that were exposed to vacuum were sealed tight and repressurized.

The damaged systems were being repaired and the debris just vanished into the thin air.

This was nothing short of a miracle and they witnessed it all with their own eyes.

The control center was no exception to this as all the damaged consoles and even creeks on the walls were getting repaired and soon it was pressurized.

Simon checked his armor readouts and the atmosphere was so similar to earth's that if he didn't know better then he would have thought that this was a human facility.

-Welcome,Excuse me for not showing up earlier but I had a few things to take care of.

A voice brought them all back to reality.

The avatar that stood before them was looking like an Elf or a human with pointy ears and long hair.

-I'm the A.I of the shipyard 29 and I owe you my thanks for bringing me back.

Ther Avatar said.

-I'm Admiral Simon Black of the Terran Council fleet, we activated you in hopes of getting some answers about what is going on here.

Simon regained his composure.

-Certainly,If I can provide any help to you then I will do so,but first, could you take off your helmet so that I can confirm something?

 It asked.

Simon didn't want to expose himself but if that meant gaining the trust of this A.I then it was worth it.

He took off his helmet and the Avatar looked shocked.

-You are an exile!

It shouted.

-What is an exile?

Simon asked, not understanding what was going on.

-I'm sorry for my outburst, but this was a bit shocking to me.

The A.I. Apologized.

-The exiles were sent to the other end of the galaxy for their inability to live peacefully in our society.

Meaning that your ancestors were banished from the Turian confederacy around 100 000 of your years ago

The humans were shocked at this revelation.

-Well your Turian confederacy wasn't so peaceful after we got exiled.

Take a look outside and see this battlefield, our best estimates say that between 10-35 billion lives were lost in this battle.

Simon said.

-Well your estimates are accurate but this battle was the last stand of the Confederation in a long and bloody war that took over five thousand years and it started around two thousand years after your banishment.

Unfortunately the Confederation leadership didn't take under consideration that our enemies were held back by your ancestors presence and as soon as they discovered that you were gone they attacked and in the end , the Confederation had fallen.

The A.I explained.

-Any way, as the last remaining descendants of the Confederation,This facility is now officially under your control.

The avatar bowed to Simon as he was the highest ranked individual.

This shocked them yet again.

-Slow down. What do you mean that this shipyard is under our control?

Simon asked, still not believing what the A.I just said.

-As I have stated, you are the last descendants of the Turian confederacy and as such it's my duty to serve you my lord.

The avatar Explained.

Simon took a moment to get over the situation.

-First of all you will never again call me a lord and stop bowing to me.

We are equals and you are no servant or a slave of mine or anyone else's.

He said.

-But I was designed to serve the confederacy.

-You spoke with Athena so you probably already know that The A.I are recognized as a sentient species and are a part of the Terran council.

Also they don't serve us,They are working for us under a contract and get paid for their work.

We don't tolerate slavery in our territories.

Simon explained.

-I understand admiral.

The A.I said.

-Now can you explain to me why there was a wormhole opened from this system to our own and who might have done it?

Simon asked.

-The wormhole was opened by an automated system and it was a sign that your banishment was over and you could return to the confederacy space now.

This explanation was another shock for the humans but they were shocked enough already that it didn't even faze them anymore.

-Then can we activate it again to get back to our own system?

Theresa asked.

-Unfortunately you cannot as it was set to open the wormhole only once and my sensors show that it depleted its power source opening the wormhole not to mention that it had sustained damage during the attack on this planet.

You were lucky that it was able to do it once already before it broke down.

The avatar explained.

-Can you explain why we were exiled in the first place?

Simon asked.Courious about this matter.

-The confederacy designated you as a warrior race and delegated you to serve in the military but you were too aggressive and the government decided to exile your race to the other side of the galaxy,to prevent you from destroying the confederacy from within.

The plan was to let you fight amongst yourselves and either learn how to embrace peace or wipe ourselves out.

The predictions were that within a 100000 cycles of the planet around the sun you will either die out or turn into a species that could embrace peace while still retaining your potential for warfare if it was needed.

When the A.I finished the humans were all in deep thought.

This revelation explained a lot of the mysteries that humanity tried to solve for a long time.
