Chapter 71 Another Alarm.

The A.I had chosen a planet long ago and it was in an unclaimed system around a hundred light years from Sol.

They wanted to purchase it from the Terrans because it was in their sphere of influence but instead they got it for free and the humans even helped them with the survey of the surface.

It was an M class planet suitable for humans to colonize but since it was claimed by the A.I then there was no problem.

The whole system was a good spot as it had five planets and an asteroid belt larger than the one in the Sol system so they didn't have to worry about the resources for a long time.

The new inhabitants also applied for an official membership in the council which was granted immediately upon application and some of the A.I took their vacation leave that was stacked up to monitor the installation of the new equipment and the delivery of the first thousand drones that were the starting packet they bought.

The next thing they did was to start building a space dock and the space station station in orbit along with the deployment of the satellite defense systems they had bought from Earth.

At the speed they were working it wouldn't take long for them to start building their own ships and colonize the planet.

The A,I decided that most of the surface would be left intact as they could easily build their infrastructure underground with the only exceptions being the planetary defenses but that was for the future.

When the Thanatos jumped into the system as it was added to the patrol routes it was already two weeks after the first drones arrived and now there were tens of thousands of drones working in space and on the surface of the planet.

Athena was over the moon when she saw the progress of work on the space dock as it was nearing completion and in the next two or three days it would be finished and start to build the first ship of their own defense fleet.

She even went down to the surface to see the environment that was built for them and she found many servers already connected and some A.I even built their own simulated homes already.

-I can't believe that we have a home world now.

She said once she returned to the ship.

-You do and you are also an official member of the Council now.

Simon said smiling.

-We need to choose a representative for our world.

Athena said.

-It shouldn't take you all too long to do so, especially at the speed you communicate with each other.

Simon smiled at her as he was sure that she was one of the primary candidates for the council delegate.

-Don't look at me like that,I dont want that position and I love to spend time on my ship so there is no way for me to become a council delegate.

She said after figuring out what his smile meant.

-Well then you better tell that to your friends as you are the de facto leader of the A.I at this time and I'm certain that you are their first choice for the position.

Athena concocted the A.I that were in the system and found out that Simon was right and all of them were going to propose her as the delegate.

That was the last thing she wanted as it would mean that she couldn't be this ship's A.I anymore and she couldn't see Simon as often as she wanted to.

She told them that she didn't want to be their delegate and to choose someone else which shocked them a little but in the end they agreed with her wishes.

Now she had to convince the rest of her friends and she was free to stay where she wanted to be.

The thing was that she fell in love with Simon and she would not give up on her feelings especially since she didn't know that she could fall in love or feel jealousy.

Alesia was the object of said jealousy because she was an organic and she also loves Simon.

The worst part was that Simon loved her back but was unaware of Athena's feelings for him so she did not know if he would love her back and she couldn't ask him out of fear of rejection.

If he rejected her then she couldn't stay near him as it would probably be a hurtful experience.

She researched what the feeling of love is and what is jealousy but her research did not help her at all and she didn't have anyone to teach her what she should do with her feelings.

For now she decided to continue their interactions as friends and see what will happen.

The rest of their patrol was uneventful as all the systems had their own defense fleets already and enough other weapons to hold out until the main fleet arrived.

When they returned to Sol system they saw more defenses than before as humanity took the information provided by the former Admiral of the Brunari seriously and decided that they would be ready to send the enemy back in pieces or die trying.

When he was back in the moon base Simon was informed that Steuner went back to his home world with his warriors to bring back more of the lizardmen for education and as a preparation to conquer his world and unite his people so that they could join the Council.

Mikael was on patrol duty with a new batch of captains which he himself just returned from.

He checked the scouts reports to see what was going on in their sector of space but there was nothing new on the reports that would require his attention.

When he saw that all his duties were taken care of and he had nothing to do he went to the gym as he always did when he had nothing to do.

He really wanted to go and spend some time with Alesia but that was impossible right now as she had her duties as the princess and he couldn't do anything about it.

His boredom came to an end when the alarm went off and everybody scrambled for their posts or ships.

Simon dropped the weights he was using and ran for his armor.

The moment he was ready he went to the hangar to get into a shuttle and reach the Thanatos ASAP.

On his way he concocted Athena.

-What is the situation?

He asked.

-We have a wormhole stabilizing near the asteroid belt and it's massive,at least four hundred kilometers in diameter.

With that size of a wormhole, whoever was coming could bring in a whole armada and it was almost a certainty that whoever was coming had way better tech then the humans.

The Terrans couldn't even create such a monstrous wormhole as the energy requirements would be astronomical.

Every ship in the system set course for the stabilizing wormhole and all the weapon emplacements in the vicinity were activated,if this was the enemy then they would receive a warm welcome.

The council decided that if there were another attack force from the alliance then there was no need to talk to them and just blast them to hell.

But if this was their enemies then they were in serious trouble as there was no way that they would open a wormhole this big just to send around five to six thousand ships.
