Chapter 27. Four months later.

The last four months were extremely busy but it was worth it looking at the nearly finished ships.

The three cruisers were emanating power and their armored hull's promised safety for their crews.

Two humans and one lizardman were admiring their ships while drones installed the last parts on them and other drones transported provisions and ammunition.

They were now wearing their new armor that doubled as a space suit and also had the capability to fly so they had wings and that made Steuner look like a dragon inside of his armor.

They were a week away from the planned departure time and Mikael decided to use the rejuvenation treatment before they departed ,he had enough credits for it but Simon had to buy provisions for him.

They bought enough food and water for six months just to be sure that they had enough in case of an unexpected detour on their way.

-Well old man,see you in three days.

Simon said before Mikael entered the capsule.

-You will have to stop calling me old man when I'm out of there.

The old man laughed.

-You will always be an old man no matter how young you look.

They laughed.

Mikael entered the capsule and immediately was put to sleep.

Simon and Steuner left to make sure that there was no problem with the ships and other things.

Simon transferred the database to all the ships so that even if one was lost there was still a copy left.

He also bought all the books in the ship and copied them for all of them.

Evry ship was also fully equipped with a complement of droids and drones along with a small fabricator and instead of fighters they had combat drones in their hangar bays.

There was also a small shuttle aboard in case they needed to go down to some planet because the ships used too much fuel when they landed or took off from the planet.

So it was better to leave them in orbit and use a shuttle to visit a planet.

Three days later Mikael climbed from the capsule looking like he was 18 years old instead of almost a century.

Simon was waiting for him with his armor and something to eat as Mikael told them that he would be hungry as hell after the procedure.

At this time the ships were completed and undergoing the system diagnostic and other tests while being fueled at the same time.

The idea was to take as much fuel as they could leaving just enough for the reactor to go critical a day after their departure.

The shuttle had delivered the last shipment a day before and it wasn't sent back into orbit.

Also all the drones and droids that were finished with their work were resting in a standby mode covering quite a large patch of land.

The rest of them were already on board the ships or finishing with the loading of materials.

-Tomorrow we remove our chips and we have two days to heal up after that we leave this planet.

Simon said with excitement in his voice.

-So today and tomorrow we will sell our last materials just to keep up the appearance, especially after we spent a large amount the last couple of weeks.

Mikael said in agreement.

-Then all we need to do is wait.

Steuner said.

-Well we still have to name our ships.

Mikael reminded them.

They forgot about it but now that they had the time it was a good idea to name them.

-I will call mine a Phoenix after the mythical bird.

Mikael said after some time.

-It definitely suits you after the rejuvenation.

Simon said in approval.

-Mine will be called a Dragon after the creature from earth's mythology that you compared me to when I'm wearing my armor.

Steuner announced.

And both humans agreed that it was a fitting name.

-If we are going for a mythical creature then mine will be a Basilisk.

Simon said.

-That's a great name for a warship.

Mikael approved.

-Whats a basilisk?

The lizard man asked.

-It's a mythical beast that is said to have the power to turn its prey into stone or kill them with its gaze.

Depending on the country from which you hear the myth.

In Poland it is said that it killed anyone who looked at it.

Simon explained.

-Ok let's go sell today's materials and then get some rest.

Mikael proposed and both his companions agreed.

The next day they waited till afternoon to sell the last batch of the materials and spent as much credits as they could.

After that they went to their ships and ordered the medical drones to remove their implants.

The surgery was a minor one and it went quickly.

Simon's hand was immobilized by straps and the droid put a small device above his elbow that sent an electric shock that made him lose feeling in his arm.

Then it scanned for the exact position of the implants, made an incision ,removed the implants and closed the wound leaving only a small scar.

The implants looked like a microchip in some gelatinous cover.

All three of them were done at almost the same time and they brought the implants to Mikael's house and left them there.

Today was their first time sleeping aboard their ships and the day after tomorrow was the day to leave this place.

The next day everything was ready, the ships were supplied and fueled and the rest of the droids and drones were put into a stand by mode.

They checked everything three times just to be sure that everything was ready.

The ships tests signaled that they were 100% ready to launch except the fuel but they had enough for now.

Simon prepared everything to overload the reactor and made sure that all traces would get vaporized a day after they departed.

The departure time was set for the next morning so they spent the last day leisurely after they got everything ready.
