Chapter 72 - Extracurricular Training

Author Note: I am sorry for not being able to put anything out for a bit, my IT client dropped a large amount of work on my team with no notice last Tuesday so I have been busy working. I will do my best to try and keep up with a chapter every weekday, but that may not be possible for a month or so as my team battles through our workload. I hope you all understand and will bear with me through this shitty situation.

—Cole POV—

Forcing Malty to hand over everything she had on the Church, under the threat of being made my maid permanently, she ended up wheeling in forty thick, leather-bound books on a cart. Looking at the number of books she had, we all wondered how she managed to hide them without someone finding them on accident.

"I have my ways.", she said with a smirk, "Something like hiding things is easy for me."

"Don't brag about hiding your dirty laundry.", I remarked as I walked over to examine them, "Since I don't want to spend a week reading all of this, I will do this the easy way."

Using my powers to slow time around me, I began reading the journals one by one at normal speed for me. While it appeared to be normal speed in my eyes, everyone around me watched as I sped through all of her journals in less than a few minutes. After finishing the last book, I returned to a normal state and looked over at her with a disgusted look.

"I knew you were a cold-hearted bitch, but I had no idea you were this bad.", I stated as I began rattling off a few of the things she did, "Selling off your childhood friends to pervert, old nobleman for a few political favors, ratting out Demihuman/Human couples to the Church for gold, selling family secrets to your parent's enemies, and even trying to find a buyer for your sister so you could take the throne…you are truly a heartless bitch."

"What!?", Melty screamed, "You were going to sell me?!"

Giving her a shrug, Malty admitted to trying to sell all of her family members for the throne. Telling her father that several noblemen offered larges sums of money, just for his head, she almost took them up on those offers a few times when she was younger. Rubbing his neck nervously, it appeared he knew roughly when that might have been.

"You will want to review this one closely.", I stated tossing the King one of the books, "The Queen and you will find it quite interesting…pages two hundred fifty through two hundred seventy are all about your son's death."

Trembling with anger as he held the book, I could see the painful conflict painted on his face. Part of him wanted to read it now but the other part didn't want to know how it happened. Knowing that this was my queue to leave to give them some space, I turned to my wives to explain the plan.

"Alright, because of Malty we have a new objective. There are dozens of mixed couples and their children currently in the Church's possession. Malty doesn't know specifically where the Church is hiding them so we can't burn the place to the ground.", I told them.

"I didn't smell them when we went into the Church, all I smelled was the incense and candles.", Sapphire said with a confused look.

"They must be using magic to hide their scent, otherwise the nonhumans in the capital would have realized what was going on.", Vivian stated with a concerned look, "If the Church's people are anything like the ones in your fourth world…we may be looking for bodies instead of people."

Turning to Malty, I told her there would be dire consequences if anyone died because of her actions. Making it clear that her life was tied to theirs, her face turned ghostly white suggesting that some of them might be dead already. Deciding to stay positive, as I really didn't want to think about what we might find, I immediately teleported my family to the Church.

Watching a group of civilians scatter when we arrived, I chuckled as I watched them run away.

"So like I was saying, our highest priority now is to locate the captured families. Any of the Church's staff that we find, you can deal with them however you see fit. As for civilians, let them go without harming them. I know you may want to punish them for supporting this cult, but we have to start bridging the gap between the races somewhere.", I told my wives, "This is the first real step in bringing them together…showing them that we won't tolerate shit like this anymore."

Understanding what I was saying, the three of them nodded their heads and ran off into the building to begin their search. Pulling out the spear I stole from the God of Nightmares, I wanted to use it to deal with any would-be fanatics that got in my way. Getting a good look at it for the first time, I noticed some similarities to a mythical weapon that I was familiar with. Using Identify on the weapon its name popped up on my HUD.

"Gáe Bolg…I thought it looked familiar, good thing I caught it in mid-air with Telekinesis.", I said examining it closely, "I wonder how he ended up with something like this…don't tell me he killed the original owner for this."

Thinking about all the different realities they could have touched, I began to wonder how many thousands of years it would take to repair all the damage they caused. Remembering that it was no longer my problem to fix anymore, I let out a sigh of relief. Putting the matter aside, I focused on the issue at hand.

Since my wives were tearing apart the inside of the Church, I began searching the immediate area around it. Usually cults like this used underground tunnels to move in secret so it wouldn't have surprised me to find the families trapped in a neighboring building. Using Detect Life to peer into structures and beneath the streets, I searched the first couple of blocks around the Church first before expanding my search.

Expanding my search radius to ten blocks, I finally came across some people that looked out of place. Seeing a large group cowering in a storage building, slammed the butt of my spear into the wall and blew it to pieces. Using Wind Magic to clear the dust away, I found several couples huddled together in chains.

"Are there more of you nearby?", I asked stepping inside.

"Please…no more.", a few of the men said shielding the women I assumed were their wives, "Don't take them too."

"Calm yourselves, I am not with the Church…I am an enemy of theirs and an ally to the Demihumans.", I told them, "Again, are there more of you nearby?"

"We…we don't know.", a female Dragonewt spoke up, "Who are you?"

Using my Biopulse, I healed them enough to where they could move around semi-normally again. Breaking their chains with my bare hands, they asked me if I had seen their children before finding them. Shaking my head, I informed them that they were the first group I had found.

"Please help us find our children!", they pleaded as they grabbed onto my coat, "We don't have anything to offer or pay you with, but we-"

"I don't need anything.", I said pulling out a few gold coins for each couple, "Get yourselves cleaned up and some food in your stomachs. If anyone gives you shit, tell them that Kessler gave you the money."

"We can't, not with our children out there!!", they adamantly refused as we stepped outside.

"Listen to me, you are no good to them dead. Clearly you haven't had anything to eat in weeks and have had little to no water. If you don't get something in you soon, you will drop dead. I give you my word that I will find your children and bring them back to you in one piece.", I assured them, "I know I am asking a lot of you, given the situation, but you are going to need to trust me."

Wanting to argue with me further, they stopped when they heard several angry men being dragged toward us. Turning to look in the direction of the Church, Vivian was dragging a group of disgruntled priests to me with a pleased smile. Tossing them to my feet, she asked me to please clean her off with magic as she felt disgusting having touched the men with her body.

"Sapphire and Ventrice are still searching the Church for more people, but so far these are the only people we found that might know something. There were a lot of Knights, all of them are dead now.", she said with a smug smile, "You are better at interrogations than we are so we wanted you to handle them."

"Piss off you worms, we won't talk-", one of the priests started to snarl before I jammed my spear through his heart.

"Let's make this short and sweet…where are the children and your leaders?", I demanded, "My patience for you people is very short so don't keep me waiting."

Ramming the spear into the next priest seconds later, to show I was serious, the remaining men began spilling everything they knew. Telling us about several stash houses around the city where they were keeping arms, armor, and people captive. Having them mark every location down on the map, I used Decay to kill them all once they had told us everything they knew.

"Damn…they didn't know anything about where the leadership is.", I grumbled, "Can I leave the stash houses to you? I will call Shino and company over to help you round up everyone quickly."

"Of course, leave it to us dear!", she said giving me a kiss, "I will be back soon!"

Slithering off with a copy of the map, she disappeared into an alleyway to start her search. Waiting for her to vanish from sight before speaking, the couples looked at me with a shocked looks. Asking me if I was married to her, I nodded my head vigorously.

"Actually she is an Echidna, but yes we are certainly married.", I chuckled, "Actually I have a harem of mostly nonhuman women, I am particularly fond of Elves and Warrior Rabbits. I am sure some of you men understand what I am talking about haha."

Seeing several of the men smile in response, they clearly understood exactly what I meant. Getting smacked by their wives, out of jealousy, the group overall became a lot more relaxed around me now that they knew I was like them. Deciding to place their faith in me, they reluctantly left to get food in their stomachs before they keeled over. Once they were gone, I opened a portal home and called out to see if my Pro Hero lovers were home.

"Shino, Ryuko, Tomoko, and Mirko…are you four here?", I called out into the house.

Hearing the sliding door at the back of the home open, Shino came running in covered with sweat. Wearing her usual workout clothing, it appeared I caught them as they worked out with Mirko.

"We are getting a quick session in, what's up?", she asked taking a sip of water.

"I hate to pull you away from your butt-kicking, but Vivian needs some help over here. ", I stated, "We have a large number of hostages being held around the capital. She needs help collecting them all while the rest of us look for their missing children. Can you help?"

"Of course, give us a few minutes to get changed and we will be over to help.", she said, "Also…we don't get our butts kicked by her that badly. Don't just assume that!"

"Uh huh…I haven't seen you three actually hit Mirko yet during your sessions.", I chuckled.

Throwing her water bottle at me, she told me that they were working hard to improve themselves. Adamantly agreeing with her, I told her that I was well aware of how hard they were working. Telling her that I knew the workouts were paying off big for them, Shino gave me a happy smile before running off to get the others.

Pulling my head out of the portal, I had it follow me back to the Church. Waiting outside the building for them, the four women walked through ten minutes later with Tiger, All Might, and several students from UA in tow. Looking at the four women in confusion, I asked why they brought so many people with them.

"We heard you needed help rescuing hostages, so we came to help!", Izuku said with a firm look.

"...you called Nezu, didn't you?", I asked.

"Well we were sure how many locations we were talking about so we called for backup.", Shino replied, "Nezu said the students could use this experience to further themselves as Heroes."

Letting out a sigh, I wished they hadn't called him as I was trying to limit the number of people coming to other worlds with me to just my family. Knowing that I couldn't just send them back now without being an asshole, I made copies of the maps for them and quickly got everyone up to speed on what was going on.
