Chapter 21: History (1)

~Soul POV~

Finally getting to the final area of the parts of the Northern Mountain Pass former entryway since it was closed off. The reason why was simply because of a cave-in that caused it to be closed off.

This means hardly anyone uses this place anymore and makes it perfect for me to use to get inside since people won't bother to come over and look for an entry here instead of looking at the local entrance.

The usual methods to come here come from the Pastel Company mostly a family business.

Kind of like Clay from that Pokemon game of Unova of sorts.

Javi Pastel is the current head in the line for his family in the mining business to here mining away the Dust Mines in the area for some use. I did some info on them even before coming here since Takaya once mentioned some ancient ruins in the North.

I was bound to come here someday to the North to investigate the old historical civilizations even before the mission was yet to be discovered. If the Headmaster of a former combat school here in Kuchinashi found out about it from the early signs of ancient life with the buildings.

The only reason Takaya even knew was that he built his resistance force against the crime in this city by complete chance. And as someone who knew anime and games that is usually an important fact about the past that any MC or anyone would want to learn.

So how could I pass up on this opportunity pass by?

According to my research on the guy, Javi Pastel is a member of the Pastel Company, a family mining business in Mistral. In recent events, Javi Pastel took the Pastel mining company into Kuchinashi as an offshoot of his family business to make a name for himself.

And thus far his been making some golden strides in his progress in making it happen so far but that kind of thing brings unwanted attention. But hey that's his problem, not mine as I happen to like to know about these artifacts.

Now then about entering the damn unused entry…

Switching over to my Stand [Harvest] I began to call them out as I see all of them out in the open all 500 units of them as I gave them a simple demand, "Ok little fellas. I need you to use your stingers and spin them around like a drill and also check for anything that could be a danger to us when we enter inside. Then once some of the units are inside bring any artifacts near the entrance."

"Hee hee!"

They jumped very happily agreeing to do the job as they began to get to work drilling me away inside the closed down path as they began to drill an entrance to their little hearts' contents. While some merely phase through the wall going straight towards other businesses.

Remember they are ghosts.

Like this, I heard the commotion of [Harvest] doing a good job digging a way through the sealed-off pathway entrance as I made sure to get my Scroll ready for this. At this point, I'm heading towards uncertain territory but I need that Stand.

[Mr. President] simply too useful to get away like that time I was forced to flee during that fight against the Nuckelavee thinking fighting it was enough to get [Justice] but nope it clearly didn't think that way.

Unfair man.

I guess the system thinks differently because I didn't win still bullshit but no use complaining about it.

Seeing the burrowed path more I see that [Harvest] has done a very wonderful job clearing a pathway for me as I continue onwards to the entrance of the now freshly burrowed and manmade constructed cave.

Entering inside the cave I didn't know exactly what to expect but well… ruins I guess…

Glancing around the ruins of the so-called ancient civilizations I can tell they have seen some better days as some of the buildings seem to have eroded with time. Even some bones here and there as well.

Shame.

I thought there was at least some kind of decaying corpse nearby for me to use F.F. on so that I can learn what happened here in the past. That would've been the fasted way for me to collect the information about this place.

Sigh…

There is no such thing as the easy way at times.

Walking around the place I lit up my Scroll lights on it as well as take pictures of the ruins. This place reminds me of that Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild feeling of seeing their ancients in the buildings.

Except here they aren't advanced more backward with stones in place here and some carvings about some figures on the walls. People must have wanted to leave a message for someone to know what was going on.

The picture looks like some kind of woman with pale skin and black veins all around her as I see her have demonic but also angelic wings on her with a black robe outside with her inside clothing red but also the red piercing eyes to match that with the Grimm depicted in the paintings on the stone carvings of this place.

Interesting…

Next to the few pics of those are just more Grimm pictures of them attacking what seems to be a picture of some media versions of The Infinite Man. How peculiar does this mean that the pictures here show some kind of historical event happening in the past to this great effect on this group of people….?

How fascinating about this world.

The more I get to the core of its history the more questions I'm given rather than answers.

But a fact does remain clear as day to me it seems to me that something of great importance possibly their version of the Great War happened in the past according to the drawings and carvings on the walls.

Huh…?

That was when I caught my eyes on a certain picture as I rub them to see what I saw was real as I spoke to myself in a surprised tone, "What the hell is this?"

~Third POV~

Elsewhere inside the Skillful Tavern Summer Rose slammed her head on the table as she glances at her scroll with an expression of tiredness written on her face along with a mug of milk along with her cookies shown.

She thinks to herself as her eyes twitched at the scene of the info regarding her target as she sighs out a breath, 'Sigh… from what Opal told me the newest change that happened with Vermillion Raddock he just became the newest boss of the Hana Guild. That. Is. Just. Perfect!'

*Bam*

Slamming her head on the table she began to get a call from Ozpin as he began to speak from the other line as he spoke, "Ah Summer it's a pleasure to call you. Now have you got any reports of what's happening and finding one of the Queen's pawns?"

However, viewing the shaky expression on her face as well as some confusion as began to respond to Ozpin as best as she could, "Eh… about that… one of the pawns managed to become one of the Crime Guild. More specifically a narcotic one called the Hana Guild. And the one in new management is one of the Hana Guild."

Ozpin scrunches his expression hearing those words as he calmly takes in a breath of air and sighs out loud as he spoke in a serious tone, "Whew… in that case I would like you for that you return. I don't doubt you're skilled Summer but I'm afraid this is above what you can do or would you like it if I give you back up?"

Summer knowing the obvious answer then replied with a smirk of her own as she nodded her head and gave her answer with a righteous cause in her words, "I'll take the backup Ozpin. Besides me and Qrow can take care of them. By chance is Raven with him or-"

*Vroom*

Speaking less than necessary Raven and Qrow soon left the portal as they soon appeared looks at the two siblings saw Summer as she blinks at this as she replies, "Oh. I guess you guys came very fast huh? Well, at least it's better to have your help. And Raven about-"

Before Summer could finish Raven merely glared at her former teammate of hers as she replies to Summer with a harsh voice in her words, "Sorry but no. I'm only here on behalf of Ozpin work nothing more and nothing less for my tribe."

Frowning at this Summer sighs at this while Qrow scoffs at this but Raven ignores it. She has already abandoned Yang but agrees to still work for Ozpin under a contract that she'll assist them in dealing against Salem so long as Vale forces don't go after her tribe.

If she was planning to leave might as well get the benefits from them as she could.

Before turning off Ozpin also gives one more message to the team as he spoke to them in a calming tone, "One more thing. If any of you can get the chance to collect the artifacts hiding within the Northern Mountain in Kuchinashi it would be greatly appreciated. And please capture Vermillion Raddock alive."

*Beep*

Hearing this Summer's eyes twitches at this as it appears she has another reason to go around the crime-filled city she thinks to herself calmly, 'Oh I hate Ozpin when he pulls this kind of thing. Is it so wrong to be around my girls enjoying their childhoods with them? Is that so much to ask for!'

Qrow chuckles at Summer's distress as Raven remained firm as she did having her mask but an unnoticed smirk was apparent under her mask.

The three members of Team STRQ have appeared and then began to decide on a plan on what to do about the Hana Guild as well as who's job to collect the artifacts as well. Raven on the other hand thinks to herself greedily, 'Hmm… perhaps those so-called artifacts would be useful to the Branwen Tribe. I'm sure Ozpin won't miss a few missing.'

With that, they began to talk about their plans for today and do the action for tomorrow of how they will manage to complete their goals…

Unaware that someone else beat them to the artifacts first…
