MELANIE MALACHITE POV

A week later.

"So Ruby. You're fighting with us right?" She asked as she polished her weapon.

Frankly, it didn't need any more polishing at this point but she was mostly doing it to keep her mind off of the fact that they were finally going to fight the Queen of all the Grimm in the world.

If someone had told her that she would be participating in a fight against the Grimm Queen a year ago then she would've scoffed at their face.

Back then she had no idea that there was even a Grimm Queen.

And now they were going to fight her.

So that Jaune could capture her and add her to his harem…

Yes. Her life has indeed taken a few strange turns ever since she met Jaune.

Not that she was complaining.

Not when she had become strong enough that she could have easily beaten a few dozen herself from before she met Jaune.

And she was still not enough to even join the main fight.

That goes to show just how dangerous the Grimm Queen was.

"No." Ruby replied with a grim look on her face "Since our plan to have Jaune sit the fight out failed, he'll be taking on the bulk of the Grimm horde. So I, Aunt Raven, Maria, Pyrrha, and Neo will fight Salem while you two, Yang and Dragon Jaune will handle any Grimm that decide to join the battle."

"Isn't Neo…" kinda weak when compared to the other 7 tiers.

"I know." Ruby said with a nod "But Neo is only going to act as support. We're hoping that her illusions will be able to distract Salem. And if that fails, then Neo could still use her Maiden powers to counteract Salem's magic."

"Have you finished the weapons you were making Ruby?" Miltia asked as she entered the room and sat beside her.

She could feel the slight nervousness emanating from Miltia through the shroud. In fact, most of them were nervous. Most of them, except for Maria.

Even Jinn, who would not join the battle because of having no combat abilities was nervous for them.

"Yeah. Me, Pyrrha and Yang were able to complete them yesterday. Raven and Maria are currently practicing with them." Ruby said.

They went silent after that, each one of them lost in their own thoughts as they mentally prepared themselves for the upcoming fight.

The door opened again and Yang walked in. She paused when she noticed the somber atmosphere in the room before she continued and went to sit beside Ruby.

"Hey! What's what the sour faces everyone. If I didn't know any better then I would say that you lot were scared." Yang said in an attempt at bravado and to cheer them up.

It was a pity that none of them were in the mood for this.

Especially when they could feel that Yang was even more nervous than them.

"Yeah. It's not like we're going to fight someone powerful like the Grimm Queen." Her sister said.

She sighed, knowing that if she let this continue then Yang and her sister might begin an argument.

She and her sister still didn't like Yang very much thanks to the one-sided beat down they had suffered all those months ago.

It's surprising how much first impressions mattered

"Ruby. When do you think we'll attack Salem?" She asked.

Ruby thought about it and spoke "A few days at least. But before the end of the week. Jaune wants to end this before the third term starts in Beacon Academy."

"Oh… I almost forgot." Yang ssaid "Jaune asked me to bring you three to the training ground."

"For what?" Her sister asked.

"To practice with High-Grade Military Dust." Yang replied "He said that you lot don't use that Dust in your normal missions so you might want to come and practice with it. Just in case you're not used to it. Me and Ruby will be doing the same thing."

She nodded and got up from the chair, feeling some of the tension in her body leave her as she stretched.

Sitting here and feeling nervous was not going to help anyone so she might as well do some last-minute training.

Hmm… that was probably why Jaune called for them. He must have felt their emotions and wanted to give them something to do so that they could keep their mind off of the upcoming fight.

Jaune could be caring like that.

"Let's go Miltia." She said to her sister and they left the room, followed by Yang and Ruby.

Time for some last-minute training.
