Misery of Love

I had been a girl full of life and loved everything about it. During school, I never took things seriously and always made fun of people and friends who ever fell in love. During my O levels, I had a friend who seemed to be in love with this guy used to study in the school next to mine. His name was Jack. My friend, Alina and Jack seemed to be really close as I used to listen to her stories often.

Well, one day, Alina came up to me in the cafeteria and started crying. I got worried and asked about the reason. She told me that her mother, who was a single parent, had got to know about her and Jack. I enquired the reason behind her crying. She told me that her mother had taken her cell phone as she did not want her to stay in touch with Jack.

I started laughing and made fun of her. I passed on various comments on her which included one sentence that came back to me.

" You are crying for a boy, come on!"

to which she answered,

" Jenny, you have no idea how hurt I am!"

I stood up, picked my bag and moved on towards my next class. Alina followed me quietly with a feeling of being helpless and worried.
