Chapter 6

When they arrived at the house, Alia clearly scared to take another step closer to the house. Lewis noticed her behaviour. He stroked her head gently and whispered to her ear, "You only need to tell them how you feel." He then take a step back and smiled. Alia now finally found the nerve to walk toward the house.

She could see her parents were plowing the soil. The sweat that they wept really hurt her heart. She walked closer to them until they noticed her presence.

"You again?! Why did you come back for? This isn't your house anymore!" Shouted her father.

"Just beat her again as always, honey." Said her mother.

Alia ignored those shout and word. She walked close enough to let them hear her voice.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"You're sorry? Sorry?! After you burdened us with all these work, you're feeling only sorry? What an ungrateful daughter you are!"

Lewis clenched his fist as soon as he heard that. But he released it after he calmed himself.

"Even though you feel that, I want you to know that I still love both of you."

"Liar! You liar!" Shouted her mother. "Don't say that! You're... not my daughter! Of course you don't feel about us that way!"

That instinct, her mother's eyes were dwelling in tears. Alia noticed it. "Mother?" She said.

"You're finally live free. Look at your clothes! Don't you want to stay there?! Why do you came back here for?! Go!" Her mother continued to shout to the bottom of her throat.

"Dear..." Her father turned to Alia's mother. "Don't say that... You said it almost like... we let her go out of love..." Her father started to cry.

"Father... Mother..." Alia started to feel pain in her chest.

"I'm sorry... for everything... I love you Alia... I didn't mean to hit you the other day. I'm stressed with my work that I have to let it go on you." Said her father.

"It's okay... I understand..."

"I'm sorry too, my daughter." Said her mother. "I thought you hate us for this poor life we gave you..."

"That's not true at all... Mother..." Alia finally cried.

She ran towards them and gave both of them a big hug. They hug each other for quite some time. Lewis that watched the conflict between them solved, smiling out of glad that nothing happened.

"Can I stay to work at the mansion? I promise to send you some money sometime." Alia asked for permission from their parents. She didn't want to work there if their parents don't want her to.

"Of course you can. That's the place that makes you happy right?" Said her father.

"Yes." She turned to Lewis that currently watching them from afar. "Yes indeed."

After some time passed, the Orange colour filled the sky as time got late. They said goodbye to each other and went back to the mansion with the prince.

"Isn't that great? You're finally make up with them." Said Lewis with a smile on his face.

"Yes. It's not gonna happen without your help. Thank you."

"Don't thank me... I didn't do anything back there."

They walked home silently. As they arrived near some forest, the prince stopped.

"What's the matter?" Alia asked for Lewis weird behaviour. "Shouldn't we go home. It's getting late."

Isn't it this place...

The prince dragged Alia through the forest. The uniform wore by Alia, Shrewd at some place as it stuck at some branches.

"Here we are."

They arrived at a high rift near the shore. The wave hit the bottom of the rift really made a nice sound to their ears. The wind that blew straight to their face really felt nice. But what caught their eyes the most, was the beauty of sunset view they could see from there.

"It's so beautiful." Said Alia.

"Right?" Lewis glad that she love the scenery. "This is my favourite place other than the grassy field."

As they took a second to enjoy the sunset, Alia turned to look at Lewis face.

Does his face always look this handsome? She thought.

The sunlight shone his face, making his more beautiful. When Lewis turned to her, she quickly averted her eyes towards the sunset. Her face became red as plums.

So cute. He thought.

This time, he took a look at Alia's face. The sunlight that shone her face really made her angelic face became even more beautiful.

When Alia turned her head to Lewis, their eyes meet. They averted their eyes, and then their eyes meets again once more. Truly it's really an unforgettable experience for both of them, even though they were not aware of it.

The sun has set, signing the time to continue to walk home. They arrived at the mansion without a word to each other.
