Mark is just another 16 years old high schooler who’s studying in Ramsay High. His life seems bleak but Mark's future is not. Many expect celebrities to be born perfect but are they?... Follow Mark's journey as he tries to be atleast ordinary but fate put "extra" in it.
It took about ten minutes to arrive school but being early was good for Mark.
He went straight to the principal's office on the third floor for locker keys.
Mark knocked on the door and wait for a reply.
He didn't leave since there were noises inside. It's either the principal or someone else who should be there.
No one's stupid enough to steal in broad daylight from a principal's room.
As he was thinking, the door opened.
Mark looked up and he sees a girl with eye-catching green eyes smiling at him but still catching up her breath.
Oh shit..
Mark's eyes then went to the principal who's literally sweating beads but standing straight in front of the table as if nothing's going on.
'Are they seriously gonna act like nothing happened just now?...'
Mark stopped thinking about it and went in with a smile.
"Hello principal. I'm here for the locker keys."
Principal looks at him then squinted.
With a look of realisation moments later, she took out something from the drawer.
"New student, right? Call me Mrs. Smith. Elena, take this kid to his locker room."
"Yes, Madame. Come with me, 'kid'. *pfft* "
...
The walk towards downstair with this girl was very annoying to say the least.
For people who don't know who she is, Elena seems to be just another other ordinary student living her life, going to school.
Albeit, abit too talkative.
For Mark, she's a walking bomb...
...
As they arrived inside one of the locker rooms, Elena went towards one of the lockers and opened it using the key.
"Here! Take this key. You know class schedules, right?"
"Yep."
Mark took the key and put it inside the bag while taking the books for first period at the same time.
But he stopped sensing Elena still looking at him.
"Do you need something?"
Mark asked but all he got was a smile.
"You're cute."
"..."
"I know."
Mark said as he walked out of the locker room leaving the dumbstruck girl.
Walking inside the classroom, Mark sat in the middle row beside a window.
He wasn't trying to act like a protagonist.
He chose this seat because of the breeze that would flow randomly and he could get distracted by looking at the clouds as long as he wants.
'Anyone who knows would definitely agree with me...'
[Your accelerating heartbeat indicates dishonestly.]
A hologram appeared in front of Mark which shocked him.
"Stop talking! They'll see you!"
Mark whispered but another hologram appeared in front of him right away.
[Other people cannot see it at all.]
"Why not?"
[Because this is an AR technology. People without proper equipment can't see it.]
"I'm not wearing anything at all though?"
[You just can't see it. Agent has already put necessary equipments inside your body to interact with you.]
" DUDE, You can't just put stuffs in my body without telling me!"
Mark shouted accidentally which got the attention from nearby students.
Some were looking at him with disgusted face. Many were just confused and a few weirdos were blushing.
"It's a game! We are talking about a game avatar! Hahaaha...nothing weird here!"
Mark tried to cool it down but he failed...miserably.
People just ignored his excuse as if telling him 'they know what actually happened and don't want to be anywhere near him.'
'Well, there goes my dignity...'
[Agent don't understand why you were shouting. You know Agent can still hear your thoughts, right?]
...
The first period wasn't really interesting.
Mark spent the whole period looking at the sky while asking questions in his mind.
RINGGGGG
The school bell rang and Mark stood up just like others in the class and went to his locker.
'Agent, is there any way to go back home? Am I really dead in that world?'
[...You're not dead. Atleast not yet.]
'Then why am I still here?! Can't I just go back and possess myself before the body rots?!'
[Yes you can but there's don't need to worry about that. You're in a different universe right now. ]
'I don't get it.'
Mark said as he took the science book from his locker.
[Time doesn't effect those who are outside its domain which means travellers can essentially time travel.]
'Aren't we abit too OP...?'
[There are limits in what travellers can do as well but agent can't inform you until you have taken a contract with one of us.]
Mark's face showed annoyance as he walks toward the science class.
'The contract..'
Agent has been talking about the contract the entire first period.
Contracts are essentially made so that lost ones can learn how to become a proper traveller from agents and in return, they're going to be part of the organisation agent came from.
'Agent, can we talk about this when we get home? I need time.'
Mark wasn't having it.
It has only been a few hours since he possessed the body of a protagonist from a porn game.
[Agent don't get it. You'll be able to access hundreds of thousands of years worth knowledge in return for helping this world about 20 years. What's so bad about it?]
'Again, agent. Not helping. I just want to live a normal and peaceful life where I can do things I enjoy. Not a powerful space fighter protecting the planet but also able to time travel...'
[...]
[Agent understand what you're stating but can't you do what you enjoy in this world? It's not like this is a completely different world. Just a parallel one.]
'Yeah but my fam-...'
Wait. Who's waiting for him?
Abusive father, Busy mother and a narcissist sister?
They don't even talk with each other unless something bad happens in the family.
They probably wouldn't know he's dead until his body starts eluding foul smells from the room.
There was no sort of communication between them.
A broken family is what he had.
Mark sat down in one of the seats as his head lies down on the desk with hands covering the face so no one would see it.
He wanted to cry.
This time...
He really needed to cry.
No matter how many times he tell his problems to strangers, it never helped.
Cause the problem was still there.
Waiting for him inside the house.
Mark hates his family.
He really hates them.
But when he imagines them seeing his corpse..
It pains him..
'You stupid retard...
why are you like this...
stop feeling these emotions.
It's useless.
You're a man.
Get up and look at them.
Look at them straight.
And smile.
Ask them,
"Are you happy now?"
...
The school's finally over and students are walking out of the school.
Among them is Mark who's still in foul mood..
"Hey idiot."
A hand landed on his shoulder which made Mark turn around.
It's Bianca.
Looking at Bianca's supposed 'mean' smile, Mark felt his mood recovering.
"You know Bianca, You don't need to be mean to get close to me."
"H-huh? WHat do you mean I'm trying to be mean!"
"You're blushing again."
"S-shut up!"
The girl ran ahead with apparent blush still on her face.
Mark unconsciously smiled seeing this.
He never knew teasing shy people would feel this good.
'I should tease her more often.'
As Mark was still in his own world, he wasn't aware of the glares from behind.
"Yo, new guy!"
A hand landed on his shoulder again which woke him up.
Mark turned around and saw two guys he didn't think would appear so early.
Ethan White. The typical rich bully in every highschool game.
Unlike others, he's very popular with nerds as well since he likes watching anime and pretty good at FPS games.
Daniel Craig. Ethan's sidekick who pretty much mimics everything his boss says.
If these two are here then he probably did something that pissed Ethan.
"Do you need something?"
Mark asks with his face stoic.
Not getting a reaction from the new student, Ethan was pissed.
He didn't like this guy at all.
The only reason he's talking with this loser is because the guy was talking with his crush.
"Just wanted to ask you something."
"What is it?"
Mark asked not wanting to waste another moment with this guy.
"Chill out dude. Just wanted to ask you, how did you become friends with Bianca?
She's very anti-social. I've been trying to befriend her for quite awhile now."
Oh.
This guy's aiming for Bianca?
Pfft.
...
'I can't believe it. I want to laugh out loud.'
"Hmm...Do you really want to know?"
Mark asked with a pondering face.
"Yeah?" Ethan answered while wondering what this guy is on about.
"....Do you REALLY really want to know?"
"..."
Ethan was somehow speechless. Is this new kid screw loose or something?
He was going to answer again but Mimic answered instead of him.
"Just answer the question, new kid!"
Suddenly a smile crept up on Mark's face. His mouth opened...
"Then you should ask her. She's the one who decided to be my friend.
Can't help you, dude."
Mark left casually as he said it leaving the two speechless and frozen.
They couldn't believe that Mark used a douchebag move on them, both of them were furious.
Ethan felt humiliated and Mimic shared his boss's feelings.
