03: A Fair to Remember

When I realized that my wallet wasn't in the pocket of my skirt as we were walking to the cafeteria, it was too late. I must have forgotten about it when we hurried earlier to put our belongings in our lockers.

When Riam inquired, "Did you forget something?" and looked at me anxiously, I immediately face palmed.

"You guys go ahead, I'll catch up with you, I forgot my wallet at my locker," I nodded.

Riam grabbed my wrist and said, "I'll come with you," just as I was ready to turn around. He insisted as he held my hand as we walked to my locker.

Okay, so now that he is holding my hand, what should I do? Should I release his hand, please? Should we continue in this manner till we reach my locker?

Oh, I'd hate to be impolite. What ought I to do?

Devil Evelyn: If you absolutely don't want to hold his hand, release it; the decision is yours.

Angel Evelyn: Your being dramatic, he's only holding your hand. You don't need to create a scene, and moreover, I think it's really sweet of him.

Would it be considered impolite of me to release my grip on his hand?

Devil Evelyn: Of course not. You have the option of letting go or not. Also, if you feel uneasy holding his hand, release it. Just like that.

Although he makes a really lovely and fluid motion, you do have a point. Riam could also be the key to helping me forget about Cyprian's rejection and my love for him.

Angel Evenlyn: So you're just using Riam to put another person out of mind? That is a disaster.

I'm just moving on with Riam's extra help, I am not using him just to get rid of another man.

Devil Evelyn: Oh, you're not?

I'm not, no. How could you two say that? I've known Riam for a very long time, so it's crazy to think that I would utilize him.

Angel Evelyn: Hey, I'm not a part of this. You should be blaming the devil. You claimed earlier that you two are attempting to work things out weren't you? Since he already confessed to you. Therefore, this is the day when you performed that role.

Okay, I've got the solution. I'm grateful, Angel.

Angel Evelyn: You're very welcome. I received one point for this round, whereas Devil received none. Better luck next time, demon. Angel out~

N: Devil moaned and complained as she snapped her fingers and disappeared, while Angel snapped her fingers and vanished.

Still clutching his hand, I responded, "Found my wallet, Let's go" grinning as I pointed to my locker.

We were on our way to the cafeteria when we encountered Cyprian, who seemed exhausted and like he had been sobbing all night.

But he kept walking without saying anything. Additionally, we remained silent as we made our way to the cafeteria.

●CAFETERIA●

They were already having their lunch when we got to the cafeteria. Desu said, "What took you guys so long?" as we were sitting next to each other after quickly taking our seats.

Evelyn apologized, saying, "I couldn't find my wallet straight quickly."

N: That's untrue, clearly she found her wallet straight away. The reason why they took so long it's because of Cyprian.

He was a disaster when they went past him. She was worried about him and wanted to ask him what was wrong, but he chose to ignore her. Because of this, she had been thinking about him on the way here. She doesn't even have to like him since he previously turned her down.

She needs to move on since she is still in love with the man who rejected her.

Soon after that, Enne and Fukumi showed up.

Evelyn said, "Our lunch break is going to end. What took you so long?"

Desu remarked, "You're asking Enne that when you too arrived here minutes after they did."

"Oh, sure. Sorry about that," Evelyn chuckled.

Enne added "It's fine, no need to be sorry" as she helped Fukumi sit down, "But, let me remind you that we do have a patient here whose in a bad state, we can't just make him rush to get here."

Evelyn said, "Well, sorry, but your lunch is getting cold. Desu ordered for you guys, so that you don't have to, eat up."

Enne smiled and thanked her. She then put her attention to Fukumi and helped him, he was having trouble using his fork and spoon, to eat his lunch.

Enne said "You just act properly there, and I'll feed you," as she giggled and fed him with spoonful of kimchi.

Mael wonders, "You two appeared closer than normal after he got hurt."

Enne said as she helped him sip his water, "I'm just trying to assist him to eat his meal, that's all" She shrugged as she gave him a spoonful of soup.

Evelyn smirked at Enne as she teased and said, "She's only watching out for boyfriend, of course they're getting closer"

Mael said, "Oh, yes. I forgot you two are now in a relationship."

While they peacefully ate their lunch, Cyprian unexpectedly showed up and said, "Hi Eve, I was wondering if you wanted to go watch a Viviz Concert on Saturday with me." He then added, "I already got two tickets, if your willing to attend," while pulling out a ticket.

"Why would I go with the person who rejected me?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow.

"Despite the fact that I refused you," Cyprian said, "We can go as friends"

"You could've put this much effort when I confessed to you but no, you didn't" she complained, adding a phony grin.

Cyprian inquires, "So, is that a Yes or a No?"

Evelyn said "Can't you tell by my face that it's a N.O." She then points at Riam and said, "I'm already going with Riam to the concert. Sorry, but you had your chance"

Disappointed, Cyprian said, "Oh, alright. No problem," he then left after she rejected her offer.

After he left Mael asked as she chewed, "I don't see why he started to approach after he refused you."

"I don't get it either, but let's not speak about him," Evelyn remarked with a scowl.

Enne smiled widely as she glanced at them and said, "I see that you two are going to the concert that must be good, are you going on a date?"

They exchanged glances as Riam responded, "Yeah, we are. It's our official date," holding Evelyn's hand in surprise. She tapped his palm to release it, as she added, "Yes, and we're taking it easy." She smiled.

Enne clasped both of their hands and remarked, "That's good, I'm sure you two will have tons of fun."

Evelyn said enthusiastically, "Of course, will have loads of fun. It's Viviz were talking about, and I can't wait to see them back stage"

Desu grabbed his ears and said, "Geez, calm down gurl. I know you're a fan girl and all but can you tone down your volume a bit."

Evelyn frowned as she continued, "You do know that your killing my vibe with that attitude, but I'll tone it down just because we're at school"

Desu exclaimed, "Thank you."

~Ring•Ring•Ring~

"Oh, the bell," Michi said, "Do we have a class the rest of the afternoon?" He asked.

Riam said, "Nope, I don't think there is. Our History teacher said that he won't be able to meet up this week since he was hospitalized" shaking his head.

Michi said, "Hope he gets better soon" and added, "How about you girls?"

Evelyn responded, lifting an eyebrow and asking, "No, we don't have classes this afternoon. Why?"

"Oh, since none of us have classes this afternoon. Why don't we go to the fair or the mall," Mael said as she raised her hand.

Fukumi's comment, "Fair sounds good to me, the mall is to cliché to hang out anyways" astonished everyone because of how quiet he had been.

"I second that, Fair is much fun than malls" Evelyn said, raising her hand to cast her vote as well.

Desu stated, "Majority wins, fair it is"

Riam and Michi argued, "But, we didn't get to vote yet"

Desu asked, "Do you really wanna vote when everyone vote is a trip to the fair which Evelyn said that it's way more fun than malls"

They bith shook their heads and covered their mouths, as Desu went on, "Okay, fair it is. Should we go now?" He inquired.

"Since the school's gate closed before 12:05 and it's already 11:55," Evelyn said, "We should leave right away."

When Enne shouted, "Wait!" everyone froze as they were about to walk away and nodded.

They looked at her and said, "What's wrong?"

Enne wonders aloud, "Whose ride are we going to the fair,"

"The school's gate is about to close, so may we talk about this in the parking lot? We don't have much time," Evelyn argued.

Mael replied, "Yeah, I agree. I'm sure we can work this out at the parking lot. Come on, let's go."

Everyone walked quickly toward the parking lot after nodding. Since there were seven of them, Evelyn and Riam were paired as they took Riam's car, Michi, Mael, and Desu were paired as they took Desu's car, and Fukumi and Enne were coupled as they took Enne's car because Fukumi was wounded and couldn't take his car.

Through the call, Riam said, "Everyone ready!"

"Ready! Let's have a fair to remember," everyone shouted joyously through the call.

Mael yelled, "Let's go!"

Everyone appeared to be anticipating the fair since Michi, Mael, and Desu were singing, playing music loudly on the phone, and generally having a good time in their car.

No one was conversing, engaging, playing loud music, or singing instead, there was only total stillness and discomfort in Enne and Fukumi's automobile.

"So, are we going to tell our friends that we're not truly dating?" Enne questioned to break the awkward pause.

Fukumi said, "I mean, we could tell them. But, don't you think Michi will ask about what we're hiding earlier?"

"Of course he would, but Riam won't like it if we merely tell them that Evelyn and Cyprian kissed," she added.

"You're correct, but other from telling them the truth, what else can we do?" he acknowledged while posing the query.

She questioned, uncertainly, "Do you agree continuing this fake relationship?"

He nodded, "If that's fine with you, then it's cool with me"

"Then, it's decided that this "fake relationship would continue. Nevertheless, there should be rules that must be followed," she said.

He agreed, saying, "Sure, that shouldn't be a problem. So, what rules should we follow"

"Well, here are the five guidelines I had in mind: 1. We shouldn't fall in love. 2. Always act like a gentlemen when we're together, including carrying my bag, paying for stuff, holding my hand, and kissing on the cheeks to be realistic. 3. Organize romantic dates. 4. To be more realistic, buy each other another pair of couple accessories. 5. Last but not least, we ought to share something. Will discuss the last one when we have some alone time so that we can relate to one another," she said.

"Okay, seems easy enough. But, what's in it for me if I follow all them?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

"You can suggest whatever it maybe as long as it's not too expensive for me" She added.

"How about a trip to Maldives" He suggested.

Enne looked at him and said "I said not too expensive, do you want me to get broke or something"

"Because that's what I had in mind, besides Maldives is a great tourist's destination" He added, while begging her.

"Can you suggest a destination that is less expensive, you do know that we're just students who can't afford that luxury" She said.

"I'm sure we can afford that kind of luxury, besides your parents are one of the most richest people in our town how can you not afford that" He remarked.

"Just because we can afford it that doesn't mean we can spend my parents money for your trip to Maldives" Enne complained.

"Okay, fine. Let's go to a different destination, what do you recommend?" He complained while asking.

"I was thinking" Enne was about to suggest when Mael interrupted us through the call "Have you guys forgotten that we're still here and are you going on a trip without us, for shame" Mael complained, as she added "I suggests we go to Hawaii especially that it's summer season"

"So, you heard everything we've talked?" Fumuki asked, nervously.

"Oh, no. Just the part where you were suggesting a trip to go to and I say Norway" Michi added.

"No, let's go to New Zealand" Desu suggested as he also joined the conversation.

Enne cough to get their attention and said "Let me remind you that this trip is only for Fukumi and Me since his the one whose injured"

"Ooh~ I see what's going on. You want some alone time with your boyfriend, I see. Well then, we won't bother you on your honeymoon" Mael teased as she giggled through the call.

"It's nothing like that, besides if all of us goes how are we going to pay for the trip?" Enne asked.

"We can all pitch in for the trip, right guys?" Evelyn suggested, adding "Including foods & drinks, even the tickets to booked for the flight"

"Yeah, I agree" Riam agreed "Summer is coming and we all need a break that's why it's better if all of us go on this trip" he added.

"Okay, I guess that's fine. Now, the only problem is where should our trip be?" Enne agreed while asking.

"According to my study, Germany is one of the greatest destinations to travel for individuals looking for an authentic, interesting vacation on the "continent," Evelyn said. "We can all I agree that Germany is the best possible option," Evelyn said.

"What about you guys? Germany seems good" Riam nodded and questioned.

Desu concurred over the phone, saying, "Sure, I'll go with what the majority is"

"We won't be traveling to Hawaii, then." Mael responded, "I might agreed as well if that's the majority, maybe next time Hawaii," with disappointment in her voice.

Michi remarked, "Same goes to you Norway, maybe next time. I agree with Germany."

Enne concurred and added, "It appears that Germany is."

N: They decided where they should go and eventually made it to the fair. They parked when they got there and paid entry tickets. Everyone was in awe of the fair's size and scope as they entered.

Enne gave them instructions and said, "Okay, now that we're here go have fun with the rides, the food, and the games. Let's meet at the entrance around 10:45pm"

They all concurred and dispersed rapidly over the area. Seeing how content and liberated they all appear to be makes Enne heart melt.

Evelyn and Riam are on the lovers ride, Desu, Mael, and Michi are enjoying the roller coaster rides and trying different foods from various stalls, and Fukumi and Enne are on the limited rides because Fukumi is injured and cannot ride the roller coaster or any other extreme rides. This would be a fair to remember.

Everyone seemed to be having a fantastic time, but then Cyprian shows up with another female to join Evelyn and Riam in their activities.
