Johan Anderson, a high school teenager in Japan, along with his classmates, is suddenly summoned to another world by an empire that needs a hero to win the war. Each student gets a job that determines their abilities, but Johan gets a job that seems strange and useless: 'Modern Soldier'.
The battle in the desert was brutal and relentless. Both sides pushed themselves to the brink, exhausting every last ounce of strength. Johan, now under Nidhogg's curse, fought by sacrificing his own life force to gain power beyond his limits. His body weakened drastically due to the curse's penalties, while the remaining Zairath soldiers fell one by one, leaving their commander alone. The Zairath commander stood, panting, his body covered in wounds, blood staining the sand around him. Yet, a steely resolve gleamed in his eyes, as if the warrior spirit of the Zairath tribe itself was sustaining his nearly lifeless body.
On the other side, Johan's tank, once invincible, was now severely damaged, its black armor dented and scratched. Despite his weakened, injured body, Johan struggled to climb out of the tank's cockpit. The moment his feet touched the desert sand, he collapsed, coughing up blood, his body trembling under the curse's weight.
