Johan Anderson, a high school teenager in Japan, along with his classmates, is suddenly summoned to another world by an empire that needs a hero to win the war. Each student gets a job that determines their abilities, but Johan gets a job that seems strange and useless: 'Modern Soldier'.

After embracing Shura and Nea warmly, the elder turned to Johan, his gaze calmer yet filled with curiosity. "Who is this outsider, Shura? Why have you brought him here, into this sacred place?"
Shura looked at Johan, then back at her father. "Father, he comes as an ally. His name is Johan, a warrior offering his help to free us from Zairath's oppression. Without his assistance, we may not have reached the ger safely."
The elder scrutinized Johan, his eyes sharp and assessing. After a moment of silence, he slowly nodded, signaling his acceptance of Johan's presence.
The elder looked at Johan with a gaze full of sorrow and helplessness, as though his last words were the only solution he believed remained.
