'What the hell, Alexa?! You said she'd be fine!'
Lucien screamed internally, shocked as he continued to shake Brigantiea's unresponsive body.
He pressed his ear close to her chest, relieved to hear her heartbeat. Gently, he leaned her back against the sofa, ensuring she was comfortable.
Lucien carefully observed her complexion. Her face still had color, not pale or clammy. No cold sweat and her body hadn't turned frail like his. She looked just like someone peacefully sleeping.
[She is just fainted.]
"You think I'm blind?! Where the hell is Farty?!"
Lucien's frustration boiled over, though he kept his voice low to avoid waking Lithira, who was still sound asleep.
